Lifestyle | January Love List

Last year I really enjoyed sharing my monthly love list with you guys; so I thought I would continue in 2016 to try and get a monthly Love List up each month! So here is January's Love List.

What I've Watched
There's been a few things I've been watching this month, I've really been enjoying watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians as a total guilty pleasure show. I'm also loving the new series of Pretty Little Liars so far and I'm so excited to see what happens now. A new show that I've been watching is Suits, I love Mike Ross and Harvey Spectre but also love how they combine comedy and drama so it doesn't get to heavy to watch after a long day at work.



What I've Snapped
Probably this photo of myself and three of my favourite people on New Year's Eve. We set up my camera and made a make shift photobooth for the evening; I love how happy with all look and it totally sums up our friendship.

Who I've Loved
I finally got to meet Emily from British Beauty Addict and boy what a night of cocktails and gossip it was! Em and I have been speaking for a few months now as we are off to Centre Parcs in March with a few other bloggers, so it was so nice to finally meet in person. Also her blog is an absolute dream, so go check it out.




What I've Worn
So there's not actually been any outfits I've really loved this month; it's been a bit blerugh because of putting on weight over Christmas. So that means I currently hate all my clothes.

What I Did
I visited Ice Bar London as part of an event that LDN Meet Up had organised and it was amazing. I got to catch up with some blogger friends as well as make some new ones! There's more on this coming next week.
I also finally started my driving lessons; I've only had three so far but I'm really enjoying them and I'm determined to have passed by my birthday.



What I Ate
I have an obsession at the moment with the Dairy Milk Daim bars; so a lot of my weekends are spent tucking into a bar whilst watching a film.

What I Drank
My best girl friends and I went to The Rum Kitchen the other Friday evening and I had an amazing cocktail called a Rumbustion. Of course it was a rum based cocktail that had coconut cream and orange bitters also. It was so tasty and made me long for a hot summers day sitting by a pool.



Where I Went
I didn't actually go anywhere that was too exciting this month, so I would probably have to say Ice Bar was the most exciting place that I went to in January.

What I've Heard
I've loved listening to some old tunes that I had forgotten about, Maroon 5's albums have been on repeat and it's reminded me how good Sunday Morning and This Love are; as well as how much they remind me of my sixth form days. I've also been listing to the High School Musical soundtracks as January marked the 10th Anniversary. I still remember all the words and dance moves and still wish Tory Bolton was my boyfriend.

Behold two of my favourite things mixed together to make something even better! Chocolate and eyeshadows that is and the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette is just that.

Of course like many other Too Faced products, the Bon Bons palette is chocolate scented that just makes you want to lick the eyeshadows each time you open it. The palette itself contains 16 shades, mostly of the bronze/nude shades; however unlike the previous Chocolate Bar palette it also has a dusty pink, bright pink, navy and purple shades. Which makes it great for creating different smoky looks.

The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is brilliant, meaning a little goes along way on the eyelids as well as being super blendable and build-able. My personal favourite shades Molasses Chip, Cafe au Lait and Dark Truffle. I also love that a few of the shades are perfect for filling in your brows, meaning you can just bring this palette when travelling to save on space.

The only thing that I'm personally not keen on is the packaging, I don't know why but the bright pink and hearts reminds me of little girls eyeshadow palettes you get from toy shops. I do like that the case is metal, meaning it won't get too damaged when travelling.

Beauty | New In From Maybelline








Maybelline has got some new launches and I just had to snap them up and try them, for research purposes of course!

The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette, I picked up a while back in New York whilst wandering the aisles of one of the many Duane Read's I visited. This palette is pretty much a great drug store dupe for Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette, if you're looking for a cheaper alternative. With 12 shades mixing of shimmer and matte; this is a perfect palette for everyday looks. They are all super blend-able and when used with an eyeshadow primer last all day.

The Falsies Push Up Drama Waterproof Mascara has just hit the shelves in the UK and is being promoted by Gigi Hadid; so I just felt that if I used the same mascara as her maybe I'll have a chance of looking like her ever so slightly. This mascara is super black and really lifts the lashes to give them a super voluminous look. The formula doesn't clump together meaning you won't get those awful spider leg lashes.

Finally a new brow product to get those perfect brows, Brow Drama Pomade Crayon. I've been on the hint for a product like this for a while that didn't break my budget; something that I could use in the mornings to make my brown routine quicker. This is a waxy crayon that you can draw and fill in your brows super easily, making them look fuller and defined. The shade featured is medium brown.

Lifestyle | Getting Healthy

If you've read my 2016 Goals post, you will know that I'm keen to get healthy this year. Probably like pretty much like the rest of the population. So I thought I would share I how intend to do this, as well as some books, blogs and YouTube videos I've been using to do so.

First up is my eating habits! I've decided not to particularly stick to any diet as such but just eat all round more healthy foods. Usually my day starts with either overnight oats or porridge during the week at work, at weekends I'll have eggs or some banana oat pancakes.
Lunches during the week will sometimes be leftovers from dinner the night before, or I'll whip up a salad with some fish or chicken to have. Dinners are pretty much the same however I'm trying to cut down on some of the naughty things, for example if everyone is having pasta I'll have courgetti instead. Same goes with chips I'll have sweet potato fries or a jacket potato. I also love trying some of the recipes from Lucy Mecklenburgh's book as they are so tasty and healthy!
Snack wise during the day, fruit is my best friend! With my favourite being pomegranate seeds, as they are so sweet they feel like a treat. I also have my little box of seeds and nuts with me that I take to work for when I get the munchies in the afternoon time. I also love the Alpen Light bars as they feel like a naughty treat even though they are only 70 calories per bar.


I'm also going to start back on taking XLS Medical Max Strength just to curb those cravings a bit more as well as helping shifts a few pounds.

I've also invested in a fruit infusion water bottle, on my quest to drink more water. I'll start the morning by putting lemons in the infuser as this is a great way to get your metabolism going in the mornings. Currently I'm also loving putting cucumber and mint in there as it's so refreshing and makes me feel like I'm having a cheeky mojito at work! So far it's really been helping me stay on course with drinking at least 2 litres a day and I've also not touched a drop of pepsi max other than when I have a naughty alcoholic drink at the weekend sometimes.

Of course changing what I eat isn't the only thing I'm doing to get healthy! I'm also doing some exercise, as of course this helps loose weight but also helps your mind; especially if you suffer with anxiety like myself. I'm off to my first Essex Bootcamp class on Sunday morning at 8am; yes you read that right 8AM on a SUNDAY! And if I enjoy it I hope to stick to going with a 5 week pass to see how I get on. However I do want to do some more workouts at home when I get in during the week. Lauren introduced me to PopSugar Fitness YouTube and I've made myself a playlist of workout videos to try out, all ranging from 10 mins to 30 mins to get me started.

I've also been reading Khloe Kardashian's book "Strong looks better naked"; which is all about being healthy both in body and mind! It really rings home that it's actually a lifestyle change not a fad diet that you need to do to see changes and stick to it. What really made me think was when she stated that if someone asked to see you after a long day at work you'd make the time, so why not make the time for a quick workout as well? Which is so true! I'll always go see a friend or for a drink after work, even if I'm super tired yet I struggle to give myself 15 to 30 mins a day to do a quick work out!

I really want to stick to being healthy this year, of course I will allow myself treats and cheat days here and there because otherwise life will get boring! But 95% of the time I will be being healthy!

So here's to getting healthy in mind, body and soul!

Lifestyle | 2016 Goals

I love nothing more than writing some goals down at the beginning of each year and trying to stick to them. Each year feels like a new start and that I can write another exciting chapter in my book of life. So I thought I'd share some of my goals for this year!

Pass my Driving Test.
So yesterday I had my first driving lesson in ten years as I've decided this year I really need to learn to drive now. I turn 28 in July and hope to have passed by then; as I live a bit further out from my close friends now being able to drive is becoming more essential as getting public transport and paying for taxis every weekend is getting to be a bit too expensive. Let me know if you'd like to read updates of how I'm getting on with my lessons in the comments.

Eat More Healthier & Drink More Water.
Like everyone else probably I'm wanting to shift a few pounds this year, so this means eating more healthy foods and drinking more water. I'm currently the biggest weight I've ever been and it's not that's it getting to me I just know if I don't cut back now it will get worse. I've started to cut dairy out and I'm bringing lunch to work everyday. I've also bought a fruit infuser water bottle to help me on my quest of drinking more water every day. There's a blog post coming on Wednesday all about how intend to do this.

Exercise At Least Once A Week.
On my quest to loose some weight I want to get back exercising, whether this be a walk round the block, a YouTube exercise video or going to bootcamp on a Sunday morning. I know that this will not only help me loose weight but also help with my anxiety.

Take my Make Up Off Each Night.
After a long day at work or a night out, sometimes the last thing I want to do is spend 10 minutes doing a full skincare routine. However my skin of lately has been quite bad so I know taking it off each night will be beneficial to clearing my spots up. I have also done the worse thing a beauty blogger can do and that is purchase some micellar face wipes! Only because I know if I've had a really late night this will ensure I do take my make up off.

Stick To a Blog Schedule & Get Back Into YouTube.
The one thing I struggle with on my blog is sticking to a schedule! I do really well for a good few weeks then I just hit a wall where I don't post anything for another few weeks. I want this to change by sticking to a schedule. So I'm reducing to two posts a week from today, Sunday's & Wednesday's at 7.30pm. This will give me the weekends to get some content prepared as well as more time to promote each post.
I also want to get back into YouTube again, I love watching YouTube videos but I just haven't had the chance to film lately. I'm hoping this can change soon and I will be able to start sharing some content over on my channel once again.

Make The Most Of Weekends.
As much as I love binging on Netflix and snuggling up with my duvet at the weekends, I feel that it wastes my time I have being away from work. So I now want to fill my weekends up doing things and exploring; I've planned a few trips to museums/exhibitions I want to see as well as organising some fun things with my friends to do. One resolution my best friends and I have made is that the last Friday of each month we do something after work, each taking it in turn to organise. Which is a great way to make sure we make the time to see each other.

I really want to stick to these goals this year as I don't feel like there too much of a change for me and should be easy to stick to. I'm hoping to give you all an update half way through the year also of how I'm doing; as this will hopefully make me stick to them even more.
