Beauty | November Beauty Favourites

There's not been many products that have been my favourite during November; as I've found myself reaching for the same things pretty much all the time.

The Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer has been my daily bronzer of choice, I love that it is matte meaning it's great for winter as I don't look like a shimmer brick. It's also great for contouring as you can really build up the colour to create a deeper contour across the cheekbones.

I have a new lipstick love in my life; Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Double Dare; it is a perfect nude/rose lip stain. What I love most about this product is that it is everlasting. I can go hours wearing this as well as eating and drinking and it will stay on. Perfect for when I'm at work and don't have time to be topping up my lippy every few hours.

I got my hair cut this month so have found using Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5 in 1 Styling Treatment a dream. It really adds volume to my hair as well a good amount of texture. It also helps my bob to stay looking slick instead of sticking out all directions after a nights sleep.

My skin has been feeling the brunt of the cold winds we've been having lately; making it dehydrated and dry. Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask has been helping hydrate my skin as well as making it look fresh every morning. I use this once or twice a week, applying before bed; letting the product sink into the skin over night. I love the mango scent that this mask has also.

I've been reaching for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Peach Nectar almost daily. I've actually been using this more as a blusher than a highlighter as I love the peach/coral tones in this. It's really buildable meaning when using as a highlighter you can really build up that shimmer on the top of your cheek bones.

What have you been loving in November? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned?
Let me know in the comments.

Lifestyle | November Love List ♥

Another month gone, so it's time to share what is on my Love List this month.

What I've Watched: Once Upon A Time - I started watching this a while ago however I got bored half way through season 2 and gave up. The other week after having nothing to binge watch on Netflix I decided to give it another try; I'm now half way through season 4 & have fallen head over heels in love with Captain Hook!

What I've Snapped: Whilst taking a lunch time stroll through Central London, I saw the Christmas windows at Liberty & couldn't resist taking a photo of this amazing bath tub filled with Champagne Truffles.

Who I've Loved: There's been a few special blogging girls that I've loved this month, who have picked me up when I was having a bad anxiety time as well as just general stupid chit chat! You know who you are, if you're reading this.

What I've Worn: My suede A-Line skirt by Rochelle Humes from Very.co.uk. It's the perfect autumn staple.

What I Did: I got my hair cut into a bob! I decided after lusting after Caroline Flack's hair that I wanted to take the plunge and I love it. If you've got any bob hairstyle tips, send them my way.

What I Ate: Greek yoghurt, raspberries & honey. I've tried to make my breakfast choices a bit more healthier, instead of reaching for sugary cereals or croissants. It is honestly now my favourite meal of the day and leaves me full until lunch time.

What I Drank: Pepsi max. I've been having a bit of a love affair with this drink in November & don't seem to go a day without a little Pepsi Max in my life.

Where I Went: I visited Brighton at the end of October for Halloween weekend to catch up with some of my Trek America friends. We drank Raspberitas that I had brought back from New York as well as going out for a boogie in fancy dress.

What I've Heard: Now if you don't see this coming from a mile off, you must be new round here! Of course it's One Direction's, Made In The AM. I've pretty much had it on repeat since it was released; favourite tracks are If I Could Fly, Wolves, Never Enough & History.
I've also been loving Ellie Goulding's Delirium & Little Mix's Get Weird albums.

What I've Used: Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. This matte bronzer has been used almost daily since I purchased it, I love that it is matte meaning I'm not full of shimmer for the Autumn months. It also smells like actual chocolate making it even more amazing to use.

What have you loved in November? Let me know in the comments below.

#ThursdayTakeover | Carolanne From A Literary Cocktail

Each Thursday LLW will be bringing you a new guest post in the #ThursdayTakeover series! From bloggers of all ranges! Today is Carolanne from A Literary Cocktail.

Top 5 European Cities You Have to Visit

I love to travel, and I have a particular fondness for travelling within Europe.

There’s something about the eclectic mix of history, culture and city life found in Europe that leaves me dreaming of my next trip before I’ve even come home.

As it gets colder here in the UK, I get an even deeper desire to travel, and luckily I have some exciting trips lined up next year. If you’ve got a case of wanderlust and would like some inspiration, here’s a list of the top 5 European cities you have to visit.

Paris, France

Ahh, Paris! My favourite city to visit. I’ve been fascinated with Paris since I was a child, and my adoration for the city was firmly cemented upon watching Moulin Rouge! It’s the idea of Paris that I love the most, the freedom of expression; writers sat around coffee shops discussing literature and philosophy.

I finally visited Paris in 2013 with my fiancĂ© and it was everything that I’d dreamt it would be. The actual Moulin Rouge was pretty disappointing though, so I wouldn’t waste your money once you’ve had your photo taken outside. Two tickets cost us around £200 so it’s certainly not cheap either!

Must do: The Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Catacombs of Paris

Bruges, Belgium

Bruges really is a magical city, the swans swimming on the lakes and the medieval architecture really give you the impression you have stumbled into a fairy-tale. I had my most relaxing trip here; though there are lots of things to do, I was also happy just to walk around and stop for numerous pints of beer. Bruges is known for its beer and I highly recommend trying a Bruge Zot or two.

Must do: The Historium, The Belfry, ALL of the pubs

London, England

I was lucky enough to live in London for four years while I worked and studied. London is full to the brim with things to do, whether you come for a weekend or for a lifetime. Walking down the River Thames is my favourite thing to do in London; it is always full of vibrant people and there’s always something going on. On the walk, I suggest popping into the Tate Modern for art like you’ve never seen before (and a surprising amount of male body parts).

Must do: Walk down the River Thames, Tate Modern, The National History Museum

Dublin, Ireland

If you’re into your drinking, then Dublin is the place for you. The Guinness Storehouse and the Old Jameson Distillery are great fun for an adult day-out. I felt like I was in a boozed-up version of Willy Wonka’s factory.

Dublin is a gorgeous metropolitan city full of things to do and I am keen to go back again soon. I recommend buying the City Pass as Dublin is a large city and sites like the Dublin Zoo are about a half hour drive away from the centre.

Must do: The Guinness Storehouse, Old Jameson Distillery, National Wax Museum

York, England

Being a Yorkshire girl myself I had to have a Northern city on the list! York is a peaceful city filled with cobbled streets and boutique shops. There’s also a lot of history in York, including being the birthplace of Guy Fawkes.

For a family day out, York is perfect. The Castle Museum is fun and includes a very life-like Victorian street, and York Dungeons is excellent.

Must do: The Castle Museum, York Dungeons, York Minster

Beauty | Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette

If you've seen my Sephora haul, you will have seen that I picked up the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette. I'd seen great reviews and YouTube videos using this palette so was desperate to get my hands on it (which actually took going to about 3 Sephora's)

The palette itself has 14 shades, 2 which are matte. All shades are really pigmented and I would say run almost on par with the Lorac Pro Palette. There's a complete mixture of shades included from deep purples/plums to light shimmery pinks; all perfect for a neutral look or something really intense.

It's also a great handy size for travelling as it's slim line packaging and has a small mirror and brush included. As brushes go that usually come with eyeshadow palettes this one is pretty good, with both a fluffy end for blending & a flat end of applying shades across the lids.

If you're looking for a Christmas present for a beauty lover in your life then this would be a great purchase.

Have you tried the Self Made Palette? Has it gone straight to the top of your Christmas wishlist?

Beauty | Bath & Body Works Haul

Products Featured:
3 Wick Candle in the following scents -
Sparkling Snow
Cozy Cabin
Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow
Radiant Red Maple
Medium Candle in Sweater Weather
Mini candles in Fresh Balsam, Leaves & Pumpkin Apple
PocketBac in Fresh Sparkling Snow, Cocoa Mint, Island Margarita, Pumpkin Cupcake & Autumn
Fresh Sparkling Snow Shower Gel
Stress Relief Pillow Spray

It's safe to say I went a little candle mad when I visited Bath & Body Works whilst in New York! Well I did have valid excuse as it was buy one get one free on the 3 Wick Candles, meaning as I originally wanted to buy 2 I just had to get 4! So it meant I could stock up on scents to see me through the rest of the Autumn months & Christmas. Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow has been burning continuously, I love the sweet vanilla scent but mixed with pumpkin makes it a great Autumn candle.
I've also been burning Sweater Weather, and I can so see why everyone raves about this candle. I did want in the 3 wick however they had none in stock only the medium size left. It's another perfect Autumn scent with the mix of eucalyptus, juniper berries & sage. The other candles I purchased have yet to be lit as I'm waiting for December to hit due to them being more Christmas scents.

Of course I picked up some more of the famous PocketBacs, last time I picked up some I chose a lot of sweet summer scents so this time I made sure to pick up some Autumn/Winter scents to see me through till Spring. My favourite so far has been Pumpkin Cupcake and whenever I've used it at work everyone is asking what the amazing smell is.

And finally I picked up two other items as I hadn't tried any actual beauty products from Bath & Body Works before. The Fresh Sparkling Snow Shower Gel has recently been added to my shower routine and I'm loving the sweet Christmassy scent it leaves on me. It also lathers up really well meaning you know you're getting clean. I also picked up the Stress Relief Pillow Spray, as I've mentioned before I do suffer with anxiety which sometimes means I don't get a great nights sleep. This pillow spray of eucalyptus & spearmint really clears your sinuses and means you take deeper breathes which helps ease you into a peaceful slumber. Perfect for relieving stress.

Have you tried any of the Bath & Body Works products I picked up? What's your favourite scent?
Is there any scents I should pick up next time I'm Stateside?

Beauty | USA Drugstore Haul

Products Featured:
Wet 'n' Wild Glitter Single Eyeshadow in Brass
Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara
Milani Rose Powder Blush in Tea Rose
The Balm Bahama Mama Matte Bronzer
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

Whilst in New York, apart from spending a lot of time in various Sephora's, we also spent a lot of time in Duane Read's. Which is basically NYC's version of Boots or Walmart in other various parts of The US. So of course I had to pick up some drugstore beauty products that aren't readily available here in the UK.

I had my eye on a few of the products before I went, especially Bahama Mama and the Milani Blusher; however after seeing Gigi Hadid advertise the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara on TV I needed it. Well I had this dream that it would actually turn me into her, still waiting though!

The other products were bought purely on a whim, after knowing I wouldn't be able to pick them up at home. The eyeshadow palette reminds me of Urban Decay's Naked Basics & of course cost a fraction of the price with more shades included. Winning! And well the Wet 'n' Wild Glitter Eyeshadow, I thought would be perfect for over the Christmas period to make my eyeshadows sparkle.

If you would like to see any of the products mentioned reviewed in detail, just let me know in the comments.

Have you tried any of the mentioned products? What's on your US Drugstore Haul?

This post has been well overdue since getting back from New York, however I've been so busy with work, recovering from a tooth infection and just general life that I hadn't had the time to photograph all these products.

It's safe to say I hit Sephora hard this time round in America! Like a little bit too hard that for the whole of November I've been living off pasta and watching Netflix! But hey girls got needs and those needs included this huge stash of make up! I'm not going to review each product, because that would make this blog post the length of War & Peace, but if you do want a review of any product just leave a comment & I'll be sure to get this up on LLW for you.

Have you tried any of products in my haul? Is there any of the products you're dying to get your hands on?

Fashion | Cruising On The Hudson

Jacket - Topshop
Boots - Linzi's

Whilst in New York, we went on a brunch cruise that took us up the Hudson river seeing sights such as Ellis Island, One World Trade Centre and The Statue of Liberty. So of course I wanted to dress up a little nicely but still comfy as we would be going straight into Times Square afterwards for the rest of the day.
Suede and leather has been big this autumn and paired with over the knee boots, its a winning smart casual outfit for all occasions. Which made it the perfect outfit for this trip down The Hudson.

Are you loving the suede and leather look?

#ThursdayTakeover | Amy From AmyNoos

Each Thursday LLW will be bringing you a new guest post in the #ThursdayTakeover series! From bloggers of all ranges! Today is Amy from Amynoos.

Do you ever find yourself really struggling to be positive? I think that everyone at some point has had one of those days where you just can't seem to lift the cloud. Sometimes that light at the end of the tunnel seems really far away. Here are 5 things that I do to help me to remain positive and to help myself  to remain happy. Being happy is really important, it can effect your health, it can effect those around you. Try some or all of these to see what works for you!

1 -  Smile.

Smiling is proven to reduce stress. Smiles are infectious. Smile at someone on the street. Smile at the cashier at the supermarket. Just smiling to yourself makes your day feel a bit brighter. If you don't feel like you have a reason to smile today, then think of a time in the past that made you smile. Think of a good day, or moment when you were really happy.
When you feel happy your brain sends a message to your body to release endorphins (these are the happy hormones) and signals are sent to your face muscles to make you smile. This is what is known as a positive feedback loop - brain feels happy = we smile. We smile = brain feels happy. Share the joy and smile, it will definitely make you feel good, but it might also spread the joy and make someone else feel good.

2 - Take some time out to figure out what makes you feel good and do it.

A certain amount of "don't care" attitude might be required for this one. Sometimes, especially when you are younger, doing things that you really enjoy might not always be the cool thing. I remember completely depriving myself of the colour pink between the ages of 10 and 15 just because it was too girly. I also remember the school book club (remember those?) coming around and buying a copy of the Casper movie book because I had been in love with Casper since I was a small child. Oh the laughs of my class mates when it was delivered. Horrible. I stopped these things, for a long time. I stopped doing anything that made me happy that might make someone laugh at me or judge me in some way. If something makes you feel good or happy (as long as you are not hurting anyone else, or it is not at the expense of anyone else) then don't stop doing it. It can be anything from wearing pink, to a sport, to going to have your hair done, to watching some terrible TV show. Literally anything (within reason), if it makes you feel good then do it.

3 - Surround yourself with people that make you feel good about yourself.

I had a friend when I was a teenager who I realise now, really wasn't my friend. She called me names, she lied to other friends about hanging out with me, she put me down. It made me feel really terrible. I tried so hard to be her friend, and kept getting knocked back and belittled. One day I just suddenly realised that it wasn't worth my time. She wasn't my friend. Friends do not make each other feel bad about themselves. Friends do not treat each other like that. Do not waste your time on other peoples negativity. Do not waste your time and love on people that do not love you back. Friendship is a two way street and if you are not getting it back, call it a day. Surround yourself with people that make you feel good, and be sure that you are a person that people have around because you make them feel good.

4 - Do something nice for someone else.

Doing something nice for someone does actually make you feel pretty good. Giving someone a thoughtful gift is always rewarding. I love Christmas for this alone, the look on someone's face when they receive a gift is lovely. This doesn't have to be a grand, expensive gesture. It doesn't have to cost you any actual money either. Even just a simple thing like making someone a cup of tea or telling someone they look good today. Bringing someone else pleasure will make you feel good. Guaranteed.

5 - Always try to find the positive.

This for me has become a bit of a mission in my life. I have always thought that things in life happen for a reason and must be there to teach us something. Try to look at the situation that is bothering you and see what you can draw from it. What can you learn from it and take away? Look back at your week, what have been the highlights? I like to reflect on any experiences and try to draw the positives from that situation. It is so easy to focus on the negatives, when we should be focussing on the positives. If we try to look for the positive, you find yourself making them.

Do you have anything else that you do to help you to feel better? How do you find positivity in your life?
