Travel | You're A Wizard Harry | Trek America Diary #6

Orlando was a stop on the trip that made my decision for selecting the Coast to Coast South tour; it meant that I could visit Disney and Universal Studios. However as we only had one full day in Orlando we had to pick which park to visit for the whole day! I knew all along that it would have to be Universal as I had never been since they opened Harry Potter World. However that didn't mean Disney wouldn't get a look in either.

I managed to rope a few of the girls who were sharing our little cottage in Orlando to come to Downtown Disney on the evening we arrived. We enjoyed our little wonder around, taking in all things Mickey Mouse and of course I bought obligatory light up Minnie Mouse ears!

The next day it was up early and all piled into the van ready for a day of rides and thrills. I'm not going to bore you with every ride that we went on, but my favourite has to be the Hogwarts Castle ride. It was just jaw dropping and everything as a Harry Potter fan would want. We pretty much did every ride in both parks that we wanted to and even though out of the whole trip this was probably the most expensive day I had but I wouldn't change it for the world. We all pretty much stuck together as a group making it even more fun especially as we had bought fast passes meaning we had to hardly queue for anything.

Visiting Orlando has really made me want to go back and have a proper Orlando holiday there again, however it's just finding someone to go with now that's the problem!

Have you visited Orlando? What's your favourite theme park? Disney or Universal?

Lifestyle | Weekly Top 5 #5

And it's the end of August...like where did it go? It will soon be Christmas - yes I did just mention the C word!

So with that here's another weekly top 5 for you all.

1. Getting A New Job
This was the highlight of the week for me! After going for what felt like 100s of interviews last week for a job I thought I never would get. So after a dramatic resignation at my old job (we won't delve into that) I'm officially stepping into a career in recruitment! Recruitment is something I've always wanted to do since leaving university; however at the time I had no experience and the job market wasn't great, damn recession. But now I've managed to get myself a job; with a great company that really seems to have some good prospects for me. I start Tuesday and couldn't be more excited to take on this new challenge.

2. Seeing Paper Towns
I managed to drag some friends with me to go and see Paper Towns on Wednesday night. After reading the book I was super excited to see the film, especially as I love Cara Delevinge as well. The film was amazing and I loved the friendship between the three boys; I reckon this is very much along the lines of The Breakfast Club but for this generation of teens; all about find yourself and knowing who you are without sticking to the preconceptions other people give you.

3. Getting my roots done.
I'm finally back to being a full blonde with no roots showing, YAY! After not having them done since May time it's a huge relief to finally not seeing the dark roots at the top of my head and also has given me a huge confidence boost for starting my new job.

4. Seeing Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games
I decided to treat my mum to an evening out last night as part of her birthday present. I come from an Irish family and both my mum and I grew up doing Irish dancing; I knew that she really wanted to see the show so after looking on lastminute.com I managed to bag tickets for a price that wouldn't break the bank balance. We went up early to Tottenham Court Road and grabbed some dinner at The Real Greek, before sitting down for the show. The show was amazing, the whole time I was sat forward counting the rhythms amazed at they were all so in time. The costumes were so glitzy as well and made me want to dig out all the glitter and just shove it on my face!

5. Signing up to #BloggersInvadeCentreParcs
Sunday evening I got a very exciting email from Lauren at LDN Meet Up about their next Blogger Holiday, however as I was at V Festival I thought nothing of it. Monday morning I re read the email and quickly sent a response saying I'd love to go if there was any spots left! A little later on I got a response saying I had got a space and that it was all mine. About 4 hours later a whatsapp group was formed and it's been keeping highly entertained all week! I can't wait to spend 4 days in Centre Parcs with these girls who all seem super friendly and of course we all have similar interests. Let's just say I'm counting the days down to March already.

Check out last week's Top 5.
What have you been up to this week? Have you seen Paper Towns? Or have you been to Centre Parcs before?

Beauty | London Haul

The weekend before last I headed into London to meet up with some lovely bloggers & whilst we were there I did some serious shopping in Space NK & Selfridges. Well I did have birthday money to spend so I didn't feel too bad about burning some plastic.

Skincare
My skin had been having a bit of a bad breakout so I knew I wanted to get my hands on some new higher end skincare products that were going to get rid of all those nasty spots that seemed to have rented space on my face. I decided to pick up Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, from Space NK as my new choice of cleanser. I then also treated myself to some goodies from Pixi which of course included Glow Tonic and Beauty Sleep Cream which is part of their new skincare range.
Make Up
I decided that it was time to introduce some Charlotte Tilbury to my life (I know I'm such a bad blogger.) After aimlessly wandering around the counter, wanting to take it all home with me; I decided upon The Golden Goddess Luxury Eye Palette as well as picking up a Blusher Brush (which is officially the most expensive make up brush I've ever owned!)
It as then onto MAC to pick up an eyeshadow for my pro palette, in order to finally complete the last three spots in it. I decided on MAC Amber Lights, as I had heard this was great for blue eyes.
And finally I decided a new high end foundation in my life, something I could wear every day and knew it had lasting power. I decided on NARS Luminous Weightless Foundation in Punjab, as I had only heard good things about it.
After that it was time to go home as my feet were hurting as well as my bank balance.
Have you tried any of the products I bought? Are any of them on your wishlists?

Travel | What Happens In Key West...| Trek America Diary #5

...will forever be embedded in my mind!

Key West was a place that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did. I imagined spending the day on the beach and wondering the cute streets eating Key Lime Pie not dancing the night away on a bar in a real life Coyote Ugly, spending the day at sea doing water sports and also experiencing what I thought was a hurricane happening at 2am.

The start of the time in Key West for me wasn't the greatest, unfortunately I was hungover as well as having sunstroke! This meant I was officially the first (and only) person to throw up in the van at numerous points during the drive from Miami to Key West (which was around 6-7 hours.) This meant on my first night to cook for the gang I got sent to bed. I passed out at around 8pm after putting up the tent and having a shower and didn't wake up to the early hours of the morning when what I thought to be was a hurricane happening outside the tent! The lightening was so bright it was like someone lighting a match inside as well as the loudest wind I had ever heard. I thought at one point I was going to end up in the sea.

I woke up the next morning, feeling tonnes better and managed to finally drink and eat something. We were suppose to be heading out on a water sports day; however due to the storm during the night it wasn't safe for the boat to go out for the day. So we all headed to Denny's where I stuffed my face full of pancakes, sausages, bacon, eggs (hey I hadn't eaten in well over 24 hours) and did a little sightseeing. The streets of Key West are so cute and really wished that I had taken my DSLR to get some photos of all the buildings. We headed to the most southern point of America and obviously took a group shot! We were then told that Joelle had managed to get us on a sunset cruise that evening in order to make up for the disaster of the morning. So we headed back towards camp and had a nap then got ready for the night.

The night was honestly one of the best nights out of the trip! We had free champagne and margaritas whilst the boat went out and we danced to band on the deck. It was such a great night and it had only just begun. Once the cruise was finished we headed towards the main street in Key West for a few drinks, we hit up Coyote Ugly where us girls danced on the bar as well as watching a guy get a dance from one of the bar maids. After that....well that stays between us on the trek!

The next morning the sun was out, meaning we could finally go on our water sports day! However I was not expecting to be taking a test when I got there. In order to be able to drive the jet skis we all had to take a test where we had to pass with 90% meaning that we ended up with a jet ski license making us legal to drive jet skis in the state of Florida. After that it was a day on the water paragliding, trampolines, snorkelling and jet skis! It was honestly so much fun and it really mad eup for my first crappy day in Key West.

Have you visited Key West? Are you enjoying my Trek America Diary posts?

Lifestyle | Weekly Top 5 #4

1. Going to V Festival
Whilst your reading this, I'm currently dancing in a field to Ellie Goulding loving every second of my life. If you followed my blog for a few years you will know that I love attending V Festival in Chelmsford and usually camp for the whole weekend. However this year due to funds, I'm only going today. I love the build up and planning my outfit and make up for the day; don't worry I'll be sharing some snaps with you all later on in the week!

2. Big Blogger Conference
Saturday saw me up at an hour I haven't seen in a very long while as I was off into London again for The Big Blogger Conference organised by the girls at LDN Meet Up. I learnt a lot of things that I'm going to start working on for this little space of the internet that I call mine!

3. House Warming Party
Saturday was a busy day for me as we also had our house warming party/birthday party for my mum & stepdad. The weather was on our side meaning I got to wear something super summery that I thought had been put to the back of wardrobe with the way the weather has been lately.

4. Seeing Old Friends
This week I got to catch up with two friends I haven't seen in a while. The first was my friend Lauren from sixth form and Uni; we hadn't seen each other for around 2/3 years we think which is strange as we only live about half hour away from one another. It was nice to chat about what we've been up to and remember all the things from our days at uni. The second friend was my bestest pal from my old work Danielle! She came over for the house warming party as well as coming to V Festival with me.

5. New Skincare Products
Last week I full on treated myself to some new skincare products as lately my skin has just been having a bad time. I picked up the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, Pixi Glow Toni & Pixi Beauty Sleep Cream. So far I'm loving all the products and you can expect a review about them shortly.

What have you been loving this week?

Lifestyle | What's In My Festival Backpack

Sunday I'm heading off to V Festival for the day and thought I'd give you a glimpse at what I'm taking in my backpack.

The bag is from New Look at ASOS and cost £19.99. I love how this backpack is structured and you can really fit quite a lot in there. So what is in there? First up is deodrant, because with all that dancing around I'm sure to get a little sweaty, especially if it's a hot day (like it's meant to be.) This is the Sure Maximum Protection Clean Scent and is meant to give you the fullest sweat proof protection possible, so hopefully there will be no sweaty armpits around here!

Unfortunately toilets at festivals aren't the best, so my handy anti-bac from Bath & Body works in Pineapple Sorbet & packet of tissues are a must in my backpack. I hate not being able to feel clean after going to the toilet so the amazing scent of the anti-bac is great for helping you feel fresh and clean.

Make up wise, keeping it simple for top ups during the day by taking my MAC Heroine Lipstick and Soap & Glory's Solar Power. The colour of this lipstick is just amazing and is great for summer and with a quick swipe of solar power on my cheeks to keep them looking glowy and tanned through out the day is a must also!

My Primark sunnies are also coming with me, I've decided to bring a cheap pair incase anything happens to them that won't leave me heartbroken. And finally of course so I'm able to keep my mobile full of battery, meaning I'm able to take photos for Instagram and Snapchat the day, I'm bringing my EasyAcc portable charger. This charger is great and you can get at least 4 full iPhone chargers out of it meaning it's great for camping and festivals.

What would you pack in your festival backpack? Is there anything that you'd recommend for me to pack?

Beauty | Lorac Pro Palette 2 Review

The palette that dreams are made of!!! If you have read my American Beauty Product Wishlist post you'll know that this was right up there on something I wanted to pick up! So when I spotted a Ulta in Miami I ran in there all guns blazing to find the palette my collection was missing.

I've only ever heard good things about the Lorac Pro Palettes and they are all correct! The pigmentation is insanely good, like one little touch and and you get so much pay off, meaning a little goes a long way with these eyeshadows. They are also super buildable and blendable making them great for smoky looks especially the shades silver & charcoal. I also love using rose & mocha for everyday golden/bronze looks. I love that there's 8 shimmer and 8 matte shades to totally mix up your look with as well.

I'm now seriously contemplating picking up another Lorac palette when I head back to New York in October as this palette is honestly one of the best I've used.

Have you tried thhe Lorac Pro Palette? Is it on your wishlist?

Travel | Welcome to Miami | Trek America Diary #4

"Party in the city, where the heat is on. All night, on the beach, till the break of dawn."

And that is pretty much what we did. Miami seemed to be a place where not many photos were taken (honestly I've spent an hour trailing through Facebook and whatsapp-ing my trek mates to see if anyone has any photos!) I think this was perhaps because we were excited for a bed and our first big night out on the town!

The day time was spent exploring the shops (mostly H&M) where I manged to finally nab the Lorac Pro Palette I've been dreaming of for years and then heading off to the famous South Beach. Unfortunately like most of the trip so far, the rain was following us! As we arrived at the SoBe, hoping to soak up some rays it started raining and was ready just to cry and face the fact I was going to be going home paler than when I started this trip. However after about 15 minutes of rain, the sun finally made an appearance!! Cue all the cute beach hut photos and an hour of laying on the beach.

After that we head back to the hostel we were staying in for the night, The Freehand. This was not what I had expected for a hostel, in my mind I was picturing almost like simple rooms with metal bunkbeds. This hostel was almost designed to look like cabins on a ship, with the wooden bunkbeds and cute interiors. 8 of us girls were in one room together and luckily we had two showers in our room to get ready for the night.

Once we were ready and had a few pre drinks we headed off to a Cuban restaurant called Havana 1957, where I had one of the best meals I had the whole trip. It was shredded chicken in garlic with refried beans and I was in heaven! I defo need to try more Cuban food soon!

Joelle took us to a bar to start the night off called Kill Your Idol, where it was karaoke night! Cue all of us taking turns to sing after a few more vodka and cokes! It was honestly the funniest thing to see! After that all the girls headed to LIV to dance the night away; only thing was that the drinks here were soooo expensive! $16 for a vodka coke! I nearly fell over when I handed over the cash. After dancing for a good few hours Edie and I escaped back to the hostel to pass out and make the most of having a bed.

I would have really loved to have had more time in Miami to explore the beach more as well as sample more of the nightlife as there was so much to do here!

Have you been to Miami? What was your favourite thing there to do?

Lifestyle | Weekly Top 5 #3

Another week been and gone! It's really flying by lately and I couldn't be happier as I've got a few exciting weekends lined up now till mid-September!
So here's what I've been loving this week.

1. Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush
I've been on the hunt for a new blush lately as nothing seems to please as much as my Coralista from Benefit did. So when I saw this gem from Soap & Glory I thought why not give it a chance and see if it does the trick & it does! I love the coral/peach tones as well as a hint of shimmer this is great for the summer!

2. The PLL Summer Finale
We finally know who A is! Whilst I was a little disappointed in who A actually was, overall I thought it was a good episode. If you want to know what I thought the whole way through the episode then you can see my every thought in this blog post: Thoughts Whilst Watching PLL Finale.

3. London Blog Meet Up
Saturday I made a little trip up to London to meet some Blogger girlies for food and shopping! As I'm on slimming world I opted for a really yummy Super food Salad from Henry's Bar which was super delicious! After that we hit the shops on Oxford Street and finally spent my birthday money!

4. NYC Planning
I'm heading back off to America in October for my sister's 21st, so I spent one day last week planning how we were going to spend the five days we are there. There's a lot of shopping and eating on the agenda and I can't wait! Now to get planning the outfits!

5. Unpacking the last box in my room
The last cardboard box is finally empty! My room is slowly starting to look like a bedroom and not a cardboard mountain. Which means I can now spend hours browsing Etsy for cute framed quotes for my wall!

What's something that made you happy this week?

Lifestyle | All The Cutest Stationary | Smiggle* & Sighh Designs

Stationary and cute accessories is something us bloggers love, am I right? Well I think I've fond some of the cutest stuff going around lately!

Smiggle, is an Australian brand that has just opened a shop here near me at Intu Lakeside. It's full of bright colours, animals and much more! The guys sent me over some pencils, crayons, rubbers and a water bottle to celebrate their opening! The crayons definitely take me back to my school days with the removable colours and once I get my hands on an adult colouring book these will come in great use! My favourite though is the water bottle and the rubbers, maybe because they are shaped like food? The water bottle is super handy and the lid is great at stopping spills in my bag, due to the extra lock and flip opening.

Whilst browsing Twitter at some point the other week I came across Sighh Designs by Polly Vadasz. This are every bit of Pinterest, Etsy and Blogger worthiness! I knew the Today's Activities Pad was a must, as a lover of writing lists everyday I knew this would please me ticking off the boxes and the success box at the end!
I'm also planning on making a wall quote gallery in my new bedroom so picked up the four Tough Love prints, that I'm going to get put in a frame and hang up soon. I love the quotes on them and actually believe in tough love to get through life.
Finally the gorgeous Everyday Tote Bag that I now use everyday to bring my lunch to work in! This is hand painted on by Polly herself and I love the detail in this bag as well as all the cute drawings of the stuff that defo lives in the bottom of my bag.

What are your stationary weaknesses? Are you a stationary addict?
Let me know in the comments.

Until Next Time...
