Fashion | Oscars 2015 Best Dressed

Last night saw The Oscars in LA happen...some of the dresses were absolutely stunning and I wanted to share my favourites with you guys here.
I'm always in awe of the amazing frocks the girls gets to wear, I mean when do I ever get dressed up like that? Never that's when. If only I had some kind of swanky event where Marchesa or Zac Posen want to dress me! A girl can dream...

So here are my top picks.

Dakota Johnson wearing Yves Saint Laurent
Girl of the moment Dakota Johnson looks stunning in a red straight gown with split and silver detailing on the shoulder. I just love how simple this dress is and how much the cut suits her. Props to the stylist on this one!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad Couture
I'm loving anything white at the moment and this dress just hits all the right spots for me. Stunning detailing with the jewelling as well as that deep plunge neck line. You wouldn't think that Jenna was a mother of one?

Sienna Miller in Oscar De La Renta
I always fall in love with a De La Renta design and when on Sienna Miller my ultimate girl crush, when I was in my teens, we are onto a winner. I love all the lace detailing and bondage style ribboning on the ribs, bringing the waist in. Not that she needs her waist to look any smaller!

Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford
Monochrome! How you will never fade out of style and always look so chic! Reese pulls this off effortlessly, the cut suits her hourglass shape like a glove and the cut of shoulders just add a little more. Apparently the black on the dress is actually velvet as well!

Rosamund Pike in Givenchy Haute Couture
Red, lace and a thigh high split!! Be still my beating heart! This is just perfect and I love everything about it. Especially the detailing on the waist, it makes her tiny waist look even tinier! The magic of great design right in front of your eyes.

Suki Waterhouse in Burberry
This is the ultimate modern princess gown in my eyes. None of that Frozen gown style, but a deep burgundy red full circle gown. It doesn't get more simpler than this and Suki pulls it off like a dream.

So those are my favourite looks from last night. As you can tell I'm loving the black, white and red frocks lately; however I did also love Emma Stone, J.Lo and Jennifer Aniston's dresses. But if I listed all the dresses I loved we would be here forever!

Who was your best dressed? Which of the dresses above would you want to wear to The Oscars?

Lifestyle | The Netflix Tag

I've ended up being super lazy with today's post...I'm going to blame the weekend just gone as I had no time to do anything due to being super hungover and everyone in my house being ill. Also I spent Sunday just staring aimlessly at the TV, so this post is super appropriate.

It's a brand new tag post...The Netflix Tag! I only ever watch Netflix or YouTube, watching actual TV is a rarity for me at the moment as there is nothing truly exciting on at the moment (other than Broadchurch) So it seemed only fitting that I divulge all my deepest, darkest Netflix secrets with you all.

1. What are your favourite series to watch on Netflix?
Pretty Little Liars and The Good Wife are currently my favourites; however I need to finish Dexter, Breaking Bad and Once Upon A Time still. I'm renowned for starting a series getting bored then tuning out for a while.

2. What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Currently it is The Good Wife...I'm only two episodes in so far but I'm really enjoying it. Love a political drama.

3. If you could have any series, old or new, put on Netflix; what would it be?
The OC...that show was so good!! The original Teen Drama for me. Nothing better than lusting after Summer & Marissa's outfits or Seth Cohen! What a dreamboat? Let's not even bring up the Spiderman kiss!

4. What is your one peeve about Netflix?
That when you're watching a series and after two episodes it comes up with "do you want to continue?" Netflix please note that I like to get into my bed and not move, especially when I'm hungover on a Sunday. So getting up to click yes is highly annoying...

5. What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
Good internet signal, nothing worse than it buffering half through a crucial point. Also my comfy PJs and my duvet. I love snuggling down and getting cosy with my fairy lights and candles lit also, very Pinterest moment!

6. Recommend one series or film for someone to watch on Netflix.
Series wise - Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl or RuPaul's Drag Race. Really simple easy viewing but all gripping and amazing!
Film - Frozen Ground and Dallas Buyers Club. Both of these are high drama films, but they are amazing! Frozen Ground is truly remarkable and Dallas Buyers Club well it was Oscar nominated, no need to explain anything more!

7. Name a series on Netflix that you keep meaning to watch, but haven't.
Scandal, I've heard so many good things about it. Even my mum has said I need to watch it. It's written by Shonda Rhimes who also created Grey's Anatomy so I know it will be amazing.

8. Did you discover anything awesome because of Netflix?
Evan Peters!
RuPaul's Drag Race, if I'm ever needing cheering up I just whack this on and I know I'm instantly going to be cheered up. It's also amazing to see the drag make up, like seriously how do they do it and look so good!!!

And that's all the questions!
Now I'm not going to tag anyone to do this, just do it if you feel like it! Just let me know if you do cause I'm nosey and like to see what you all watch.

What's your favourite thing to watch on Netflix?

Lifestyle | Love Tanya By Tanya Burr Review

So I caved and bought a book by a YouTuber! However I'm so glad that I decided to pick up Love Tanya by Tanya Burr. This book is a pleasure from cover to cover and is great for a cosy Sunday night easy read. Love Tanya, covers the childhood, YouTube sucess and tips on dealing with anxiety as well as all the beauty tips you could ever need with a little bit of baking thrown in.

Now being what would be in Tanya's older demographic of readers/viewers I was a bit dubious about this when I purchased the book on a whim on pay day. However I'm actually really pleased I did. I've really enjoyed and was totally engrossed in reading about Tanya's childhood, how she met Jim as well as how she started her career in make up. It was so nice to find out more about someone that I've only seen snippets of once or twice a week, during the last few years that I've watched Tanya's videos.

Also the photography in this book is stunning! Not only does Tanya look super but so do all the other photos of her baking treats and make up essentials. I would say this book is a bit like Lauren Conrad's Style & Beauty books that I absoutely love and have both of them on my dressing table. Safe to say that Tanya's book will now be added to that collection also.

Also at only £6.49 on Amazon at the moment you can't go wrong really? I can't wait to try out some of the recipes once I get a bit more free time on my hands at the weekend come March; and I also will be trying some of her tips for dealing with anxiety as this is something that I do suffer with and am open to ideas to try and calm myself.

So would I reccommend you to buy this book? Only if you know who Tanya is or have an interest in the YouTube/blogging community, because let's face it, if you don't know who Tanya is you may not find it as interesting. The book is eye catching, has good information as well as letting you get to know Tanya a bit more. The only thing I'm not keen on is the list parts, where you can write down your own thoughts to each chapter. Only because I don't want to ruin the book, but I can imagine this being a great hit with younger readers.

Have you picked up Love Tanya? What do you think of it? What are your thoughts on all the YouTubers bringing out books?

Lifestyle | Starting My 2015 Project Life Scrapbook

So if you have seen my 2015 goals video, you will know that I had planned to start a Project Life scrapbook after seeing Lily Pebble's video about her's. Me & half the blogging community right?
Well I thought I would give you all a little look at how my scrapbook is coming along after one month as well as what bits and bobs I've got to make my scrapbook.

There's not much really to say about how I scrapbook at the moment because it's all a work in progress. I reckon as time goes on I'll work out how to be more creative with my presentation with it as well as remember the sleeves I have at the moment only hold landscape photos! What an error that was the other day when starting!

My scrapbook itself is the Project Life D Ring Binder in Black from the Midnight Edition, it's currently sold out on Hobbycraft, and I am using the Design C Page Protectors but I want to get the variety pack soon as I feel it needs a change up. I've also got the Project Life Summer Themed Cards to use as fillers as you can see next to photos or to write little memories etc on.

Other essentials I've gathered up are washi tape, I'm getting obsessed, roller glue, glittery sticky letters and some speech bubble post it notes. I'm slowly figuring out how to incorporate them into my scrapbooking.

The hardest thing at the moment is remembering to take photos! I know that sounds crazy being a blogger, but when I'm out with friends or family I sometimes forget to get my phone or camera out to snap the memories to make sure they are featured in my scrapbook. However I do know when I come back from my America trip that I will have a billion photos to print and other memorabilia to stick in it.

So that is my Project Life Scrapbook so far!

Are you trying to scrapbook this year? Have you got any tips? How are you trying to remember moments from 2015?

Beauty | Lush Valentines Range

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to attend the Lush Valentine's Blogger event at the intuLakeside branch of Lush. As I had previously been to another event held by Lush so was really looking forward to this one.
There was only 4 bloggers there, including myself. Chloe, Jen and Nicki, go check them all out right now! Well after you've finished reading this post first.

All the staff were super friendly and we were given a look at the Valentine's range as well as new massage bars and shampoo bars. I'm a big Lush fan so safe to say I was super happy with the goodie bag that we got as well. Expect reviews later on of some of the products that we got.

Heart Throb Bubbleroon* - King of Skin Body Butter* - Cupid's Love Soap* - Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar - Karma Bubble Bar - Brazilliant Shampoo Bar*

I'm really excited to try the shampoo bar, as we got to pick out of the new ones on offer I asked to try one that was clarifying due to my ongoing problems with my hair lately (more on that another day). So I can't wait to see if that works. Also as it's meant to get around 80-100 washes from it, I'm thinking taking on with me to America would be super handy!
We did also get a little bottle of Prince Charming shower gel* however this was in my shower and I forgot all about it until writing this post!

I can't wait to pamper myself this week before Valentine's Day with all these items!

Have you tried any of the Valentine's range from Lush? What's your favourite? Which one are you hoping to pick up?

Travel | Trek America Countdown #5

Can you believe we are on countdown number 5 now? There is only 4 months to go until I head off my adventure and it can't come soon enough. When I started this series we had 8 months, so we are now half way through!! High fives all round.

This last month I've started to research into travel insurance and currency cards; as this is something I really want to sort out during February. Insurance for this trip has been a nightmare, I've been reading policy after policy and my brain is still frazzled. However after talking to Victoria and doing my own research; I've decided to go with Colombus Direct as they cover a lot of the activites I will be doing as well as covering what Trek America specfically ask for.

Currency card wise, I'm still on the hunt! However the reason for buying now is that I want to start putting some of my spending money on it, so I don't spend it! Let's face it as a blogger we all sometimes buy things we shouldn't; so by doing this I can't get my hands on those dollars.

I've also been writing lists...again! Lots and lots of lists. Things I need to do before I go, like unlock my phone, let my bank know I'm abroad for 5 weeks etc. Lists of things I need to get before leaving; quick dry towel, a head torch, an alarm clock etc. The lists seem never ending but they are the only way I stay organised regarding what I have and haven't got so far for the trek.

Emma and I have also been getting to know our travel buddies a lot more. We've been discussing things we want to see in NYC before the trek leaves as well as if people are buying sleeping bags when we get to The States or before. It's nice to have a little network of people who are feeling the same excitement and nerves as yourself.

One last thing that I've been doing is trying to figure out what I want to do when I come back. As the days creep closer to when I'll be offically unemployed, the more nervous I get about what I want to do when I come back. I'm currently learning towards taking a course in Leisure and Travel as this leads on from my current job and is something that I've discovered I have a big passion for. However this means saving even more money so I can afford the course when I get back.

So that's Trek America Countdown #5 done!
We're only 121 days away month it will be double figures!!!

What type of posts do you want to see leading up to my trip?

Lifestyle | Hating On Each Other

Lately it seems that everyone within the blogging and YouTube community is just out to spread hate, from what I've seen. This stems back to some point last year when it seemed every was just bashing one another and criticising peoples actions and words. I've been toying with writing how I've felt about all of this for sometime now and as someone who is way beyond my teenage years I thought I'd share my views.

Spread more love than hate
The reason for this post coming now, well Gabby from Velvetgh0st deactivation of her twitter account. Now I don't know all the ins and outs of what has happened, however I have spent time on that dreaded gossip website where every inch of her being and her recent time in hospital was dragged down and analysed in depth. People were even saying that they've googled the hospital logo and it matches a snapchat she sent; and this one shocked me even more, they rang the supposed hospital up to get information on why she was there.
Okay so she may have not told us the real reason she is in hospital and may have lied - but if this person angers you so much click that unfollow or unsubscribe button. It will make you feel better that you can't see this anymore if it really annoys you so much that you have to go and bash them down on social media.
Now while I don't agree with the way this has been handle on both ends, be it Gabby herself and other bloggers/fans. I do believe that all the tweets calling Gabby a liar etc will affect her, imagine if it was you? How would you feel? The fact that she's had to just remove herself from Twitter is just crazy, when you think about it this is the way that most of her videos are advertised by herself...poof gone! Just because some haters gave their two pence worth and pressed the wrong buttons.

Also another thing that angered me lately, was the so called buying followers on Bloglovin' issue. I had seen a girl, who I actually used to follow on Twitter, call out people that she believed to have bought thousands of followers. Like seriously why even bother, the world is a cruel place and sometimes money does pay in this day and age. I get that you're angry that these people are jumping the gun and getting places quicker than you are, but so what? Take pride that you yourself are honest, because by you naming and shaming on Twitter it caused me to unfollow (a genuine follower) as you just came across as being a bitch who was out on witch hunt. (There goes 100 of my followers) I've seen blog posts from other bloggers I follow having to defend themselves because of this...I mean why should they have to if they've worked hard for what they've got. And if they paid for them, let them...the blogging world is too big today for everyone to make it to the top. So just have fun.

Basically what I want to say in this post is stop hating on one another and focus on yourself. I'm not saying you're jealous or that you want revenge but just step back and think. "How will my words affect me and the person I say them to?" This will change peoples perspective of you completely as soon as you become that person bashing around hate and calling people out. My views on people who I thought were nice and genuine altered when I've seen certain things on Twitter or Instagram. However you don't see me throwing shade on them because of this, let others do them and you do you. You'll soon learn to see that just focusing on yourself and the positives will bring you more success. Share the love of other bloggers, engage with them and don't bash them. Spark healthy debate amongst each other, don't go guns blazing that your thought is right and right alone.
Hell I know people will have totally different views in regards to this post and my views, but they are more than entitled to them. Just don't hate on me because of my views and how I run my blog/personal life.

This is my life, my blog, my rules.
And as Taylor Swift says
"The haters gonna hate, hate, hate..."

What are you views on this hate campaign that seems to be happening of late? Do agree or disagree with my thoughts?
Let me know in the comments.

Until Next Time...
