YouTube | A Snapshot of Spain Vlog

I love the smell of new video day! Today's video may well be one of my favourites. It's a little vlog of my time in Spain from last weekend.

Now I didn't want this to be a typical vlog as I was seeing my Dad for the first time in ages; so I didn't think shoving the camera in his face at every possible moment would be fun. Instead I decided to show you all the little things I enjoy about Spain, the views, the lazy mornings and of course the sunshine.

If you've got problems watching the embedded video, click here! I've got some photos I took coming up on the blog on Friday so stay tuned for that.

Do you like this style of vlog? What's your favourite thing to do on holiday?

Beauty | Soap & Glory Smolder Khol Eyeliners

Soap & Glory is a brand I've always loved! Their skincare, body range and make up tick all the right boxes for me! However I've not event tried half of what they have on offer; meaning when I say this set of eyeliners for half price in Boots after Christmas I couldn't resist.

The Smoulder Khol comes in 4 shades, Superblack, Aquabat, Cocoa Bean and Blue My Mind. These cover black, aqua green, brown and navy blue, meaning all your eyeliner needs are catered for.

Smoulder Khol boasts to be a waterproof eyeliner, which I'm not to certain about. Yes I don't get any smudging on the top of my eyelid, however I do find that it wears off quite easily. But it is a kohl pencil so what would you expect? All of the liners are great for creating a smoky smudge eye look as they are really blendable and easy to smudge. Would I buy them again? No, not really, they're great and do what they are meant to but I'm not wowed by them at all like other eyeliners I've used. But for £7 for all 4 I can't complain!

Have you tried Soap & Glory Smoulder Khol? What are your thoughts on the eyeliners?

Beauty | Make Up Starter Kit

When I was younger I had no clue where to even start with make up. I didn't know what were the main essentials I should have in my make up bag as well as even how to apply them properly.
So today I thought I would give some of perhaps my younger readers or readers who are wanting to get into make up a bit more, my recommendations for your make up starter kit. These are what I call the key essentials you need for a basic everyday make up look to get you started.

All of the products I've picked are products that I have and use in my make up stash as well as them all being drugstore products; making them relatively cheap and easy to get hold of.

Foundation - Rimmel Wake Me Up
Wanting that dewy glow everyday? Well this foundation does the job, and it does it so well. It's become my go to foundation everyday because I just love it, simple as. It makes my skin look fresh and radiant as well super easy to buff into the skin.

Concealer - Rimmel Wake Me Up
Pairing up with the foundation is this concealer. This is great for under your eyes as it really brightens dark circles. However don't use this on blemishes as it is more of a radiant concealer rather than a concealing blemishes.

Contour & Blush - Sleek Face Form Kit
I love this kit for when I'm on the go. It's got you covered with a matte bronzer, shimmer highlight and the most amazing rose gold toned blush. As you can see I really love the highlight shade! You can just use the blush or get that Kim Kardashian look by using all three.

Brows - Barry M Brow Kit
Brows are still in at the moment, so what better than getting yourself a little kit that covers all your eyebrow needs. This little kit has a brow powder, gel and a browbone powder; as well as tweezers and a brush. This kit is one of my firm favourites for doing my brows so I would highly recommend this.

Eyeliner - Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner
This eyeliner is great for if your a novice at eyeliner. It's fine felt tip point really helps you get a straight line near to the lash line as well as it being great to get that winged eyeliner look. Honestly this will change your eyeliner game.

Mascara - Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara
For me this is one of the best mascaras I've ever used. It does everything I want from a mascara; lengthens, defines, curls and nourish. Also the rose gold packaging helps it be a winner in my books.

Lipstick - Maybelline Coloursensational in Stellar Pink
If you're just starting out with make up and don't feel brave enough for a bold lip just yet, then this natural pink nude lip colour will sort all your problems. The colour is one of my favourites for everyday and it also has great staying power.

Make Up Bag - Zoella Guinea Pig Bag
Now you've got your make up you need somewhere to stash it. My favourite is this one from Zoella's range, it's my everyday make up bag as it's the perfect size to fit all my essentials in.

So those are my suggestions for the products you should get if you're thinking about starting off your make up collection.

What is your essential make up starter product? Have you got any tips for someone getting into make up?

Lifestyle | Ideas For Nights In During January

January! It's one of the months I love to hate throughout the year. I love the fact it means a fresh start to the year, however because it's just after Christmas it means everyone is a little strapped for cash after all that extra spending.

This is the month when I tend to spend most of the weekends trapped indoors due to my finds being limited and even more so this year due to saving for America. So I thought today I would share with you my ideas for nights in that don't break the bank.

Pamper Night
Most of us, especially us beauty bloggers, have a stash of pamper goodies by the bucket load. Why not indulge yourself by having a face mask whilst giving yourself a manipedi. Also run yourself a massive bath and pop in one of those many Lush products you have overflowing in your bathroom. Put on some relaxing music and just take some time for you.

Throw A Pizza Party
Invite your best mates over and throw the best pizza party ever! No I don't mean phone up and spend £30 odd on Dominos pizza, I mean make your own. Get everyone to grab a pizza base from their local supermarket and bring their own toppings. Open a bottle of wine and get creative with your pizzas. Whilst your making your pizzas with your friends this makes for a great time to have a gossip and whatnot between you all.

Box Set Marathon Weekend
This is my ultimate favourite thing to do. Find a TV series on Netflix or amongst your own DVD collection, put on your comfiest PJs, snuggle up with your duvet and do not move until it is necessary. I highly reccommend Pretty Little Liars, Orange Is The New Black or Breaking Bad. You'll find yourself getting immersed in the show and okay you've wasted your weekend off work, but in the great company of Aria, Piper or Walter.

Wardrobe Clear Out & eBay It
Get rid of that dress that you haven't worn in three years but think you'll fit in again! I find nothing starts January better than clearing out your wardrobe from top to bottom, including your underwear (TMI?) Bag some up and give it to charity and bag some up and put it on eBay. I mean why not try and make some extra cash if you're feeling the pinch! Some out there may want that Topshop jumper that everyone went crazy for and you hardly wear anymore.

Cook Some Stuff Up
Raid those cupboards and the fridge to see what you can whip up. Be that some cupcakes or an amazing dinner for your family or friends. I love spending my evenings see what I can create with what food I have. It's also a great way to perhaps prepare some lunches that you can take to work with you over the coming week.

So those are my ideas for have a great night in on a budget throughout January.

Have you got any great ideas for nights in? What's your favourite money saving thing to do? Will you be trying out any of my suggestions?

Beauty | NARS Virtual Domination Palette

Just before Christmas I decided that I needed to treat myself and what better way then getting the Limited Edition NARS Virtual Domination Palette? Last year I was gutted when I didn't manage to get my hands on the One Night Stand Palette, boy that was a beauty!

But fear not I managed to swipe up the Virtual Domination Palette and at a bargain price too, of £32 due to a website error on the NARS site, when actually this retails at £45. This made it even more of a bonus Christmas treat!

First things first, lets talk about the packaging. Isn't it just dreamy, like super dreamy? At the moment I'm all into my monochrome so this just ticks all the boxes for me. I also love just how compact the palette is, meaning it's great for when I'm on the go and will be super handy when I head to America in the summer.

The palette itself includes 3 blushes, 1 highlighter and 1 bronzer shade. This means it covers all the basics when it comes to covering your contouring needs. Miss Liberty is the highlight shade and is a perfect subtle highlighter. It's a gold toned product meaning when dusted on lightly it gives you that healthy glow, instead of the shimmery tone that some whiter toned highlighters give you.
One of NARS' popular blushes, Deep Throat, is also included. This is a peachy shade blush which is great to give your cheeks a bit of warmth. Next up is the light dusty pink blush, Sex Fantasy. This is my favourite of the three blushes included in the palette as I find for Winter time it gives that perfect light pink flush to your cheeks without looking like Coco the clown. Finally for the blushes is Final Cut, this is a coral shade which I find very similar to Benefit's Coralista without the shimmer. And finally we have the legendary Laguna bronzer. I've still got mixed feelings towards this bronzer as I'm still prefering to use The Body Shop's Honey Bronzer. Don't get me wrong this is a good matte bronzer and perfect for that Kim Kardashian contouring; who knows perhaps over time I'll start to love Laguna.

All in all I do love the Virtual Domination Palette and I'm so glad to now have it as part of my make up collection. At the moment I think the palette is unfortunately out of stock on both the Space NK site and NARS itself, so I'm sorry if you didn't managed to get your hands on it! Instead just lust over my photos!

Have you purchased the NARS Virtual Domination Palette? What is your favourite shade from it?

Lifestyle | 2014 Favourites

So we've had my 2014 Beauty Favourites, now it's time for my 2014 Lifestyle Favourites. This is going to be everything else that I've loved during 2014, so lets get stuck right in.

Taylor Swift 1989
This album was no doubt my favourite album of the year! Yes even beating One Direction! There's not a week that doesn't go by where I haven't listened to the whole album. Every single song is amazing and just gets ingrained into your head completely. The fact that Taylor also seems to be a really humble girl, her Christmas Taylurking Gifts really showcased this, just makes me want to be her best mate.

Seeing One Direction & McBusted
In 2014 I got to see two of my all time favourite bands, as well as attending quite a few other concerts and festivals. One Direction I hadn't seen since they were babies on the X Factor tour way back, however in June my sister and I headed off to Wembley Stadium for the ultimate night out. Bopping and singing away just a mere 6 feet away from the boys. It was such an amazing concert especially as it was in the stadium.
I also went to see McBusted with my bestest chums in the whole wide world. This was just one the best evenings ever. Busted and McFly were my favourite bands as a teen so seeing them come together and perform was just even more bloody exciting. The fact that they have now brought an album as well as another tour next year is even more fantastic.

Weekend Away For My Birthday
In July I decided to celebrate getting closer to 30 by heading off to Newcastle for the weekend with my best girl friends. We headed up on what was the longest road trip ever but was super fun, blaring out some summer tunes and just having girl talk. The weekend was just non stop party and it was great as it felt like a mini holiday almost.

Booking America
Way back in August I decided enough is enough and that I needed to finally do something I always dreamed of doing, a road trip around America. I bucked up and booked a trip with Trek America doing their Coast to Coast South tour. This was the start of me trying to place what I want to do with my life and deciding that taking a career break for a while is probably the best thing for me to do.

Exercising
2014 saw me finally get back to exercising. I joined a gym right by work which gave me no excuse not to go. My love of exercising finally came back after giving up dancing in 2012. I now enjoy attending a class and find that going on the weight machines isn't as daunting as what they may look like.

Lola's Little Wonders
Blogging & YouTube
Last year I really felt like I had finally found my blogging groove. I managed to get a firm schedule into place as well as improving my content and photos. My photos still have a long way to go before I'm completely happy with them but this is something I'm planning on working on this year. I also finally got into YouTube and my channel is slowly developing into something I'm really proud of. I've just ordered a tripod so I'm now hoping that the quality of videos will get even better as I hope to produce even more videos for you this year.

So that are all my non beauty favourites from 2014. What a year it was! However I am so excited for this year and all the plans I have in store to share with you guys.

Beauty | 2014 Favourites

How are we all settling back into normal life now that Christmas and New Year are over? I'm slowly getting back into my normal routine now which is comforting.

Today I want to share with you my Beauty Favourites from 2014. I thought this was going to be super hard to find products that I've loved throughout the whole year, however when I sat in front of my dressing table I was actually surprised how quickly I narrowed them down.

So let's get to it.

Rimmel Kate Moss 107 Lipstick
This lipstick has just been a non stop go to. I love everything about this lipstick so much, the matte finish, the colour and the fact it is a drugstore lipstick. I just never get bored of wearing this lipstick and love wearing it with some casual make up during the day or if I'm wanting a bit more of a vampy look.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Frozen Quartz
My quest for the perfect cream rose gold toned eyeshadow came to an end when this By Terry eyeshadow stick was given to me for a birthday present. This is what I practically reach for on a daily basis as it is so quick and easy to apply; and can be blended out with my finger. I know when the end of this stick has been reached I'll definitely be repurchasing.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
This eyeliner was the best make up gift I've ever been given. My mum picked this up for me in Vegas in October and my winged eyeliner game changed forever. This stuff doesn't flake, doesn't transfer onto my eyelid and doesn't smudge what so ever! It's just so damn good that I just had to mention it in my 2014 favourites.

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser
My cleanser game changed when after a blogger event at Lush I was introduced to Ultrabland. This stuff is what cleanser dreams are made of for me. I've mentioned it so many times in favourites of the year but I just love it. It melts all my make off as well a reducing my breakouts, which is always a bonus. And for just roughly £7 for a massive tub it's just as good as someother high end cleansers I've tried.

Victoria Secret's Bombshell Fragrance
This has basically become my fragrance of the year! I bought it on my way to Egypt on my girls holiday and now the scent instantly reminds me of days by the pool sipping cocktails and evenings dancing till 3am. It's a really fruity fragrance which I just love, even though it's more suited for the summer months I've still been loving wearing it during Winter.

Zoeeva Rose Gold Make Up Brushes
Another item that I was actually gifted with for my birthday that I've just fallen in love with and can't remember a time before. The Zoeeva Rose Gold brushes are just all round perfection. They look pretty on my dressing table as well as working their magic when applying make up itself. The whole way I apply my make up has changed thanks to these gems and I couldn't be more thankful.

Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara
I think I've declared my undying love for this mascara on one too many occassions. It's the only mascara I've bought this year that I actually feel like it does good for my lashes instead of damaging them. This is probably due to the argan oil that's in the mascara formula which helps them look even more luscious!

Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder
Without this gem I think I would look like a mess after the rush hour commute to work. I mean it literally saves my face everyday, non stop. Whenever I pop into Boots or Superdurg I'm always picking an extra one up because I'm so scared that I will run out of the stuff. It is constantly in my hand bag for emergency top ups as well.

So that is what I've been loving throughout 2014! I really had to narrow it down otherwise we would have been here all night!

What has your beauty favourites of 2014 been? Are any of mine yours?
