Lifestyle | October Favourites

Another month has been and gone! I can't believe Christmas is nearly here and 2014 is almost over. This means it's time for another Monthly Favourites! Once again I've got a mixture of beauty, tv, books and food for you that I've been loving this month; so lets get stuck right in.

First up is my Beauty Favourites for October. I have been loving the products I managed to get my hands on from Zoella's Beauty Range. The make up bag has become my everyday make up bag and is always in my handbag, it's the perfect size and is super duper cute with the little guinea pig on the front also. Soap Opera is also become a firm favourite for bath times, the amount of bubbles this bath soak can create is amazing and it also smells divine!

I've also been loving the EOS Lip Balm in Coconut Milk that my Mum brought back from Las Vegas for me. It smells amazing, it tastes amazing and also leaves my lips feeling super smooth! Also the packing is really cute. As it has been getting colder as well I've been loving using my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, it smells exactly Snow Fairy also which is a winner in my book; and it's also been great at keeping my lips looking smooth now Winter is here. And finally another lip product I've been loving this month, that I rediscovered is Clinque's Chubby Stick in Whoppin' Watermelon. This is great for an everyday lip colour it also works as a lip balm which is so effective now my lips are starting to get chapped.

And no for my Everyday Favourites this month there has been a lot of TV that I've been loving but I've narrowed it down to my two top shows I've really been enjoying. First up is RuPaul's Drag Race on Netflix, this was my saviour the other weekend when I was ill with the flu and a stomach bug I watched 3 seasons without getting bored. This is basically American's Next Top Model but for Drag Queens, it's soooo amazing to see all these guys transform into women who look beautiful and how they handmake their dresses etc. Trust me you need to watch this show. I've also really been enjoying Glue on E4, which is a whodunnit crime drama based in a fictious village. It has one of the guys from Rizzle Kicks in it also and the whole thing is so well acted as well as there being loads of twists and turns to keep you gripped and guessing who actually killed Cal?

Bookwise, this month I read the fabulous Paper Towns by John Green, after reading The Fault In Our Stars I was a bit wary if this would be just as good and it is. I personally prefer it to TFIOS as I can really relate to it a lot more and really love all the characters. I can't wait to see how the film of this turns out especially as Cara Delevinge has been casted as the female lead.

And finally a food favourite in the form of Dairy Milk with Daim this stuff is so damn good. It was on offer in Tescos for around 2 weeks where a big bar only cost £1. Let's just say that I pretty much ate a bar nearly every other day. It's just too damn tasty!

So that's all my favourites for this month, there is a fair few and I did actually have to narrow them down as I loved so much this month this post would end up going on till 2015 if I put them all in.

What have you been loving this October?

Beauty | Simple Halloween Make Up Look

Dressing up at Halloween is something I always look forward to however this year as I'm saving for America I can't afford to splash out putting an outfit together. So I've decided to go for a bold make up look that I wear with a black dress or my disco pants and a black crop top! I personally think this still looks pretty freaky and would definitely scare me if I saw someone looking like this at night.

As you can see I've gone for a really deep purple eye with think black winged eyeliner, bright pink cheeks with a dark black/purple lip. This was so simple to create as it's all about building the eyeshadow up and blending out.

I wanted to keep the base quite pale so opted for just foundation and my translucent powder. Then to make me look even paler I used a bright pink blush on the apples of my cheeks.

Deborah Milano - Deep Violet
MAC - Beauty Marked
Make Up Revolution Dia De Los Muertos Palette - Turn The TV On & Be You

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Translucent

Make Up Revolution - Black Heart Lipstick
Bourjois Mega Liner

Make Up Revolution Blush & Contour Palette - Sugar & Spice

And that is my Simple Halloween Make Up Look. I really enjoyed creating this look and will most certainly be wearing it tomorrow night to the party I'm going to! So look out for lots of selfies on Twitter and Instagram!

What are you dressing up as for Halloween? Are you all about the make up or the outfit?

Beauty | Deborah Milano Eyeshadow Review*

Eyeshadows are something that I love, they can totally help make or break a look! My make up collection of eyeshadows is always overflowing as I think you can never have too many shades.

One brand who is really up there with good quality eyeshadows is Deborah Milano. I was kind enough to be sent two of their 24 Ore Velvet Eye Shadows to try out.

The shades I got to try out were Dark Violet and Taupe. I love both the shades so much they are super pigmented and can also be used wet which is great for creating a more silky look with the shadows.

Dark Violet is great for evenings out where as Taupe is a great crease colour for everyday looks.

Currently Deborah Milano is offering 50% off all their eyeshadow range, which you can look at here. The range is so cheap and the products are really high quality that I would recommend snapping some up before this great promotion ends.

Have you tried the Deborah Milano Make Up Range?

Lifestyle | Juggling Full Time Work Whilst Blogging

I get asked quite a lot how I manage to juggle everything I do. I work full time in Central London, Monday to Friday; I also run this blog and my YouTube channel as well as trying to maintain a social life. It can take up a lot of my time, however I wouldn't change any of it. I really enjoying having my own little corner on the Internet.

For me it is all about staying organised. To do lists, diaries and calendars are what help me stay on top of everything. The note section on my iPhone is where I keep my to do lists and all my ideas for new blog posts and videos. You have to be realistic with how much you can post, if you can't post new content everyday then don't, this your space and you can post however much you want on here. I've only started posting everyday this month as I've slowly found my niche on here and how I want this little blog to develop.

I also highly recommend going on Pinterest and downloading some blog calendars and to do lists - there is so many on there - I find writing down my posts for the week and what needs to be photographed really helps. You can also write on here if you've got any evenings out etc so you know when you're going to be busy. This way you know what time you have for you and your blog.

The big thing is reaching out on social media in order to gain new readers and keep your old ones coming back. Obviously I can't be on Twitter all day when I'm at work, this is where Hootsuite really comes in handy, you can schedule tweets during the day at certain times so you're still publishing your blog. I will generally do this each day on the train on my way to work.

The one thing I also love to do is dedicate one full day at the weekend to writing blog posts, photographing products and filming videos. This way I know I can utilise the whole day to my advantage, for me this is usually a Sunday. It's the best way to get over the Sunday blues! Bulk photography is your friend, you've got your post titles for the next week or month. Then take all the photos you need for them in one day, this is what takes the longest! Especially as the dark nights are here, you need to use the daylight as much as you can. This means I then have the whole week to focus on work as well as have the evenings to myself and join in twitter chats.

Also scheduling blog posts on blogger or wordpress is, for me, a life saver. I can still have my schedule of when I post going ahead whilst I'm getting ready for a night out or doing some overtime at work. Then with having Hootsuite I can schedule a tweet for when the post is going live to keep my readers in the loop.

That is basically how I stay on top of blogging whilst working...the key is being organised and then you can get it covered. But don't stress yourself out, it's your blog and your space. You can do whatever you want!

How do you cope blogging and working? Do you have any top tips?

Lifestyle | Halloween Night In On A Budget

I love the build up to Halloween! However due to it being a five week month money to get dressed up and party this year is limited, this is why I'm having a more low key kinda evening but with still all the fun. Today's post is going to show you how to have a night in on Halloween but on a budget.

Bake Some Treats
I decided to bake some cupcakes for us to have as a treat but with a Halloween twist. These are Broken Glass Red Velvet cupcakes. You can find the full recipe here if you want to make them.

Watch Films On Netflix
Netflix has a loads of scary films available to watch, nothing better than to scare yourself silly by watching the newest Carrie or Scream. I personally am not a big fan of scary films (I couldn't even get through teh first episode of American Horror Story) so I tend to stick to the more child friendly Halloween films Netflix has on offer such as Hocus Pocus, Addams Family etc. This covers all your basis.

Get some Treats in
Around Halloween your local supermarkets tend to have offers on bumper packs of sweets, perfect for snacking on whilst watching your scary films. You can also look on Pinterest and find great ways to make Halloween inspired stuff like this Strawberry Eyeballs.

Face Painting/Make Up
Just because your staying in doesn't mean you dont have to miss out on the fancy dress fun completely. Delve into your make up collection and re create some easy halloween make up looks. This can be anything from OTT eye looks to Black Swan or a Cat. Then take a selfie and upload to Instagram.

Pumpkin Carving
Grab yourself a pumpkin from your local supermarket and have a pumpkin carving competition with your mates. Nothing like creating a super pumpkin whilst injecting a little bit of competition in the mix. You can then light them all whilst tucking into all your treats and watching your films.

So those are my top tips for a super cheap Halloween night in. What are you waiting for get your friends over and have your own mini Halloween night in.

What are you doing on Halloween? Will you be doing any of my tips?

Lifestyle | My Morning Routine

I love nothing more than a lazy weekend morning and today I'm going to be showing you my weekend morning routine seeing as my evening routine post went down really well.

I tend not to set an alarm at the weekends as I do love to have a lay in, however sometimes my body clock disagrees and wakes me up at 8am. This time is generally spent laying around in bed scrolling through Twitter and Instagram as well as my Bloglovin' feed. I love this time of day as where I live it's generally really quiet meaning it's perfect reading time.

Usually after catching up on social media my tummy then starts to rumble so it's time to put my slippers and dressing gown on and go make some breakfast. Breakfast at the weekend varies, sometimes it is something super healthy such as granola and fruit other times not so. Today was quite healthy, porridge with chocolate almond milk and banana.

After this I tend to get back into bed for a little while and watch some TV/YouTube for a bit whilst I decide what is on my list of things to do for the day blog and YouTube wise, as well as other household chores.

Then I will give myself a big fat bath so I'm ready to tackle the day head on.

What does your weekend morning routine look like?

Beauty | The Nude 90s Lip On A Budget

The whole beauty world is going crazy for the Kylie Jenner 90s Nude Lip. A lot of the tutorial's I've seen have only ever shown you the MAC products that Kylie uses which tend to always be sold out no matter if I go into a store or check online.

I took it upon myself to hunt down the cheaper drugstore alternatives to recreate this look. Here's my version.

That 90s lip means a dark lip liner and an almost nude lipshade. For me my go to products are Barry M Lip Liner in Russet and Rimmel's Kate Moss Lipstick in 113 Beige.

This is the look we are aiming for

And here is my version of the infamous Kylie Jenner Nude Lip

I am however desperate to get my hands on the MAC products themself that Kylie uses and will be on a mission to hunt them down. But until then this dupes will do!

Have you tried the nude 90s lip look? What products do you use to recreate this?

So my mum jetted off to Las Vegas last week and to say I wasn't jealous would be a complete lie. So as she was leaving me at home I sent her off with a list as long as my arm of lots of make up goodies that I asked her to pick up for me. And boy oh boy was I impressed. Mum manged to bring me back a range of drugstore and high end products which I'm so excited about.

I can't wait to try all of the products!! I was pretty chuffed that my Mum picked up the Hourglass eyeliner for me without me even telling her! I will be reviewing some of the products on here so look out for those coming soon.

Have you tried any of the goodies in my haul? What did you think of them?

Beauty | Lush Emotional Brilliance Review*

Until a little while a go I never realised that Lush actually did make up. When I went to their after hours blogger event held at Lakeside, I was introduced to their Emotional Brilliance range. You know that colour wheel that often intrigues you that is near the till point, well this is for a emotional colour reading that one of the staff at Lush will do for you if you ask.

Basically you close your eyes and imagine an empty space, whilst the wheel is spun. When told you open your eyes and pick out the first three colours you are drawn to. Each colour has a emotion attached to them that is somehow related to your persona and is explained to you.

One of the emotions I was given was Power, which I was also lucky enough to receive in my goodie bag. Power is a bright red lipgloss with an almost gold shimmer sheen to it, which I love. I also love the cute little droplet bottle the lipgloss is in, perfect for stashing in your handbag on a night out. The staying power of this little lipgloss is also AMAZING. Let's just say I only had to reapply once when I went out one evening where cocktails were consumed. For £14.50 a bottle it is quite expensive for a lipstick, however I can see this lasting me a quite a while due to it's strong staying power.

Have you tried Lush's Emotional Brillance range? What colours did you get?

Beauty | My Skincare Routine

Skincare to me used to be a face wipe in the morning and maybe if I was feeling generous one in the evening as well. However as I've got older I've realised how important a good skin care routine is not only to keep blemishes at bay but for also your skin in the future.

I like my skincare to be quick and easy as well as giving good results. I think I've finally found something that works for me and want to share that with you today.

I love nothing more than giving my face a really good exfoliate twice a week with this Clarins exfoliator. It has orange extract in it meaning it has a slight citrus scent to the product also. This exfoliator is really gentle so is great for sensitive skin and really works away at your dead skin cells.

The Ultrabland facial cleanser from Lush is my new favourite product of maybe all time. I love it and have noticed a huge difference in my skin in the last month and a half I've been using it. It's a cleansing cream so you do really have to work it into the skin before washing off with warm water.

Micellar Water
When it comes to taking my make up off I will always go in with the Garnier Micellar Water first. This is so gentle and great at removing stubbon eye make up. Also the bottle is so big that it usually lasts me around 3 months which is great considering it only costs around £5 a bottle!

This toner water smells like heaven! I do love anything tea tree so this is a winner in my book. It really helps at getting off that last remaining bit of grime and make up that's stuck on your face as well as making you feel fresh in the morning.

For me I've dabbled with so many moisturisers but have yet to find the perfect one for my combination, blemish problem skin. At the moment I'm using Simple's Spotless Skin Anti Blemish Moisturiser and it does the job but my skin is still feeling a tad dehydrated.

So that is my current skincare routine. However I will probably change it up soon especially as I'm still on the hunt for that perfect moisturiser for me.

What is your skincare routine? Have you tried any of my skincare routine products?

Beauty | My Top 3 Drugstore Bronze Eyeshadows

This time of year is when I love to dig out my bronze eyeshadows, they are great for the autumn months and also look great on blue eyes. Today I'm going to show you my top 3 bronze toned eyeshadows that I just can't get enough of.

Top - Bad Girl Bronze
Bottom - Rose Gold

All three of my top drugstore choices are cream based eyeshadows which are really good for blending.

First up is Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On & On Bronze, I just love how blendable this eyeshadow is and I often use this a base lid colour to build up on. The wear is great and I find that I don't get the smudge in my crease after a few hours. I also love how it has a tad bit of shimmer to the colour meaning it works great for a smokey eye look.

Then we have Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze. I am loving stick eyeshadows at the moment especially when I'm in a rush in the mornings getting ready for work. The colour on this eyeshadow is really pigmented which is great when creating a more defined look however a lot of blending is needed if you just want the subtle bronze look.

And finally is Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick by Kate Moss in Rose Gold. I love rose gold anything so I was so excited when I spied this in Superdrug that I just had to buy it to try it out. The colour has a slight orange tone to it which is great for making blue eyes pop and teamed with a brown eyeliner this look is a killer combo. This eyeshadow is also waterproof apparently which is great now it's starting to rain as well.

And those are my top 3 drugstore bronze eyeshadows.

Do you have any favourite bronze shadows? Are any of my top 3 in your top 3?
Let me know in the comments.
