Lifestyle | 30 Things To Do Before 30

Hello,

So today is my 26th Birthday and yes that freaks me out a little as I'm creeping towards that big 3 0 age. With that I thought it's time I create a bucket list of things I want to do before I hit that age. I'm still kind of young, I'm single and I have a steady job; so why not make some super duper time for me so when I'm old and grey I can look back at my 20s and think "Boy I had a lot of fun." I'm not going to explain every single one of them as this will make this post extremely long and I want you guys to stick around!

Beauty | #ProjectBareAll

Hi All,

So you may have seen on Twitter or Instagram lately the #projectbareall , this great idea was started up by Megan from Thumbelina Lillie. It's all about feeling confident without make up.

I am so guilty of wearing make up all the time, I think this may have started due to dancing from a young age. For shows, competitions and exams I was putting on make up from the age of four. The appeal of having bright red lips and amazing eyeshadow just made me feel like a little princess.

Out of all of my friends I'm the one who will spend ages applying my make up, the one they come to for advice regarding the best foundation or mascara out there. Just I love my make up, but at times it is a shield to hide behind.

I shouldn't but I always feel ugly and half ready without make up. I can see all my blemishes and uneven skintone and just think why would anyone think that I'm pretty? However after reading Megan's #projectbareall I now realise that I need to feel confident I need to be happy within myself.
This will take time but the more we all come to realise that make up is the key to being confident then maybe we can finally be happy all round as a person. There are many things I would love to change about my face, like my double chin, the spots that always seems to linger around my chin and for my nose to be a tiny bit smaller. Make always proves to be a great way to hide all these flaws but in reality I should actually be embracing them! So here's me embracing all my flaws with my #projectbareall selfie.

Big well done to Megan for highlighting this problem that a lot of girls are facing nowadays due to the constant airbrushing in magazines and celebrity idolisation that happens. I now know that in order to feel happy I need to start on the inside in order to be happy with how I look on the outside.

So here's to being comfortable in your own skin, make up free!

Have you taken part in #projectbareall yet? Post a photo on instagram or twitter using #projectbareall . Let's spread the word of this great campaign.

Lifestyle | Brentwood Festival

Hi All,

So last weekend the family and I headed off to Brentwood Festival for a fun day of food, drink and music.

It was a really nice afternoon and the sun decided to grace its presence to us all day which was a bonus! My sister, her boyfriend and me decided to hit up some of the funfair rides before listening to the band that we had come to see The Earnshaws, who do indie/rock covers.

It was a really nice day and not often do we all go out as a family, so was great to spend some time with everyone right before my birthday!

Beauty | Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

Hi Everyone,

So I gave into the hype and purchased the raved about Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner, I know it was definitely due to all the reviews that have been floating around the internet. All of the reviews seemed to be giving this new eyeliner the big thumbs up so it was added to my basket to purchase.

At £18.50 this is definitely the most expensive eyeliner I have purchased so I had high hopes that it would live up to the reviews that I had seen. The tag line on the product is that it is "so easy it's criminal", well I thought all my prayers had been answered and that I would finally be able to do the perfect winged eyeliner! Hallelujah! Well so far this has failed me...after twisting and twisting the bottom of the pen for what felt like an eternity the gel finally started to come out the nib. Hurrah! Now for application, so I was hoping for it to be easy like Benefit said, well it wasn't. I found that I had to press down on my eyelid hard in order to get a thick enough line that was continuous, it seemed flaky and just didn't apply at all well compared to other eyeliner. So first impressions were not good at all. This then meant that it was placed back in the box and left on my dressing table for a good week before I decided to re try.

The gel dries extremely quickly, so you have to be super quick at applying. Which often meant that my eyeliner looked uneven (every girls worse nightmare) it certainly does take practise. As I'm a get ready super quick kinda girl, especially Monday - Friday, this doesn't work for me at all and doesn't apply as easy as what I need it to when I'm rushing out the door for work! I won't even start on the nightmares I was having when trying to do winged eyeliner.

Well would I recommend this, in a nutshell, no. Unless you've got a lot of money to waste on products and you want to try it then get it, but if you are looking for a great gel/liquid felt tip eyeliner I would recommend the Bourjous MegaLiner - half the price and sooooo much easier to apply, even for winged eyeliner.

Sorry Benefit, you can fling me in jail for this but I won't be rushing out to purchase this again.

Have you tried Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner? What are you thoughts on it? Love it, Hate it?

YouTube | Thorpe Park Weekend Away

Hi All,

Hope we are having a good week? I'm counting down the days until my Birthday now.

Last weekend after work I whizzed off to Chertsey in Surrey to stay at Thorpe Shark Hotel overnight with a few (I say few there was 12 of us) of my close friends. We managed to snag a deal from Wowcher that meant we got two days in Thorpe Park as well as an overnight stay in the hotel including breakfast for £42.50 each!! What a bargain and a half, I mean how could we say no.

Of course in true blogger/vlogger style I documented the day and you can catch that here on my YouTube Channel. (Make sure to subscribe if you haven't yet)

It was a super duper stay, yes the rooms are tiny but as a crash pad what more could you want? The beds are super comfy and I was very impressed that you could log into your Spotify account through the TV. Cue an evening of tunes and drinks overlooking the lake. Below are few snaps of the weekend that were taken.

It was a really great weekend away and defo something completely different to do than our usual get together's.

Have you been to Thorpe Park? What was your favourite ride? Have you stayed in the Shark Hotel?

Beauty | Festival Must Haves

Hi Lovelies,

The Festival season is well and truly upon and it makes me soooooo excited. Nothing is better than camping in a field with a few of your best friends, dancing away to some of your favourite artists whilst the sun sets.

However as I love my make up and my hair products the thought of being without a shower for a few days can sometimes put the fear of god in me. Throughout my four years of being a festival goer I've now learnt what is key for any beauty junkie to carry to get them through the weekend. So I'm going show you what my top must haves are for heading off to the festivals.

Batiste Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is every festival girl's best friend, when it comes to Saturday/Sunday your hair is going to need a bit of a refresh. I've always opted for the Coconut and Exotic scent by Batiste, I find this is perfect for a little lift in your hair to stop it looking greasy as well as giving some extra volume into the roots. It also smells really nice which is an extra bonus.

Mitchum Deodrant
Deodrant is a must have! After all you will need to try and keep yourself feeling fresh when you can't have a shower. I find Mitchum deodrant to be the best in business. It smells good and it lasts all day, which is essential after chucking some shapes in a sweaty tent.

Baby Wipes
Essential for that necessary quick freshen up in the morning, they just help you feel a tad bit cleaner. They also work great for cleaning up any spillages in your tent or when you get a tad to merry for taking your make up off.

Concealer - Benefit Boi-ing
I don't know what I would do without this concealer! Benefit's Boi-ing is industrial strength stuff and will help keep those bags under your eyes hidden away (well what you can you expect with only a few hours sleep) It's also a really handy size so you can pop in your bumbag or rucksack for top ups on the go.

Eyeliner - Bourjois Mega Liner
I'm an eyeliner fiend and this Mega Liner by Bourjois in Dark Black is amazing! It glides on and stays on, exactly what you need all day when you are at festival. I find this easy to apply especially when doing winged eyeliner, which of course you need at least one day over the festival period.

Mirror
As simple as it seems, people often forget a mirror! You can just pick up a small stand up on in a pound shop and if it breaks at least you haven't broke the bank. It's always a lot better then struggling with those small mirrors you get in your compacts.

And those are my Festival Must Haves I will be taking with my when I hit V Festival next month.
Are you going to any festivals this year, or have you been already? What will you be taking as your beauty must haves? Let me know in the comments.

Until Next Time...

YouTube | Wireless 2014 Vlog

Hi All,

So a couple of weeks ago Lauren and I decided last minute (like the day before) to get tickets to Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park. I was desperate to see Ellie Goulding as I love her so much so was incredibly excited to see her as well as Clean Bandit.

I did vlog the day, however it is quite a tiny vlog but I thought I would still put it up. You can see that here.

Have you been to any festivals this year? Or are you heading off to any later on?

Lifestyle | Mr Nutcase Review*

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a good week? I know that I am very much looking forward to the weekend now.

Today I want to share with you a little review about Mr Nutcase, a company that offer custom iPhone cases. I recently upgraded my phone to a brand new sparkly iPhone 5s in gold and knew that I wanted to get myself a special cover as I usually chop and change my mind so much with my phone covers. What better way to make it special then having a phone cover with my favourite photos of my friends and family on?

Mr Nutcase have been amazing, they offer many different designs for your phone case so you can make sure you get all your favourite pictures on there. I decided to opt for the 8 squares design and spent ages trawling through my photos to pick my favourite 8. I order my case on Wednesday around midday and it arrived the following day. Super quick service that I'm mega impressed with!

I wold highly recommend if you are looking for a new phone case that's a little personal to check their website out. The case I have retails at  £9.95 plus delivery costs, however because of being a Lola's Little Wonders reader you are entitled to 10% off! Just enter the code Thanku10 at the checkout to recieve the discount. I'm so happy with my case and all my friends are extremely jealous so go have a look at what you can create.

Lifestyle | Madison Bar & Restaurant Review

Hello everyone,

Last Friday I met up with Lauren from Tea and Post for a little catch up as we hadn't seen each other since we filmed our YouTube collab which you can see here. After a few discussions over Twitter regarding where we should go I suggested Madison in St Pauls.

As soon as you arrive and are whisked all the up to the 6th Floor of One New Change the atmosphere hits you. There's that young city people feel, especially when the sun is shining like it was for us. The service was great and the food was delicious. For starters I had the Grilled Squid, Chorizo & Olives which is like 3 of my favourite foods ever, I then followed up for my main course with Risotto Bianco with Asparagus and shaved Summer Truffle. It was to die for. Yes Madison is pricey however the views at atmosphere does soften the blow when you get the bill.

You can also just go to Madison for a drink at the bar, however you do have to queue up for an extremely long time to get in which isn't fun.

Top - Primark
Necklace - Accesorize
Skirt - Matalan
Shoes - New Look

It was great to catch up with Lauren, like always we ended up getting into mischief and then deciding to book tickets to go Wireless Festival a few days later. So stay tuned their is a little vlog coming up of that day.

Have you ever been to Madison? Will you be visiting Madison next time you're in London?

YouTube | London Zoo Lates Vlog

Hi,

The other Friday evening after work, I headed off to visit some animals at London Zoo. Yes you maybe wondering why I went in the evening? However London Zoo opens every Friday night from 6-10pm exculsively for over 18s. Basically it's a dream come true for me, animals and alcohol! Perfect combination. This is the third year that ZSL have done Zoo Lates and it is proving to be a rip roaring success, with the inclusion of a silent disco, champagne tents and many more adult kiddy things it truly makes for a great evening with friends.

You can see more of my evening at Zoo Lates by checking out my vlog over on my YouTube channel, just give this button a little click!

Lifestyle | Monthly Favourites June

Oh M Gee,

Where has the first half of the year gone? I mean summer is nearly been and gone! (I truly hope it hasn't though)
I didn't get round to filming or writing a May Favourites as I was getting way to excited for my holiday and One Direction, so June's Favourites are full to the brim!!

Soap & Glory's Orangeasm - Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Shampoo & Conditioner -
Scrunchies - Benefit Coralista
A lot of beauty purchases were made in June, this was due to whizzing off to Egypt as well as a trip through duty free. As summer is now in full swing Soap & Glory's Orangeasm has taken pride of place in my bathroom, its orange scent is amazing as well as it lathering up really well with only 2-3 pumps. As the day before going on holiday I had got my hair freshly dyed I knew I need to invest in a good shampoo and conditioner to make the colour last, in steps Bumble & Bumble Seaweed Shampoo and Conditoner. I know the price tag is hefty for this brand but I knew I needed to invest in order to make my colour last. This stuff has left my hair looking super shiny, the colour amazing as well as it not making my hair greasy 2-3 days after washing. A trip to Benefit's Brow Bar led me to an impulse buy when one of the Benebabes suggested Coralista would look amazing on my skintone. Yes I bought, yes I'm in love. This has been used every day and I just love the coral tones, perfect for the summer months and looked great on holiday with my tan. I am incredibly happy the scrunchie trend is back, I've been whacking all the scrunchies I can in my hair where possible. It's like being a little kid all over again, however lets just hope the named headbands don't make a comeback.

Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan - Victoria's Secret Bombshell -
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion Primer in Sin - Maybelline Masterdrama Chromatics Eyeliner in Turquoise Vibe

Once I was back of holiday I knew that I need to make my tan last so I turned to Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan. This is perfect for moisturising the skin as well as developing a tan over time. It also doesn't has that biscuity smell that some fake tans/gradual tans have. Whilst on holiday I decided to brave the coloured eyeliner in order to mix up my make up look, it was an impulse buy in Boots but I'm soooo glad I picked up Maybelline's Chromatics Eyeliner in Turquoise Vibe. It really brightens my eyes and takes my make up look in a whole different direction then what I usually go for. Talking of eye make up, I knew that with the summer months I should really invest in an eyeshadow primer to stop my eyeshadow from slipping off my face. I decided to opt for Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion Primer in Sin, this has a little bit of shimmer to which is great for the evenings when I mainly wear eyeshadow and has also kept my eyeshadow on all night. And my final beauty favourite this month has been Victoria's Secret Bombshell. This was a must have purchase when I was in duty free, the smell is light and girlie perfect for over summer. I've been spritzing myself with this non stop since purchasing.

Lemon Squash - Prison Break - Ed Sheeran's X
Timehop App - New Look Sandals

Lemon Squash has been my go to drink wise this month. I love how refeshing it tastes and just can't get enough of it at the momment. TV wise I have been stuck on Netflix as usual ploughing my way through Prison Break, why have I left it so long to watch this show. It is on your seat stuff and some of the guys in it ain't bad enough to look at either. I can't wait to see what happens as the season go on in this as so far I've been left gasping at what has happened. My favourite singer has finally brought out a new album and it is like liquid gold for your ears. Ed Sheeran X has pretty much been on loop since I added it to my Spotify account, faves so far are of course Sing and Nina. If you haven't listened to any of the tracks yet I suggest you go and download the album ASAP! I've been loving looking at old statuses and photos thanks to Timehop, which if you don't know is an app for iPhone that links up to your Facebook, Instagram & Twitter to show you exactly what you posted on that day for as far back as you've been social networking. Some of the posts that have come up on mine have left me thinking what the heck? as well as remembering some really good times I had forgotten about. My last favourite is a pair of shoes that I never want to take off my feet New Look, has come up trumps with this diamond pair. I love the colour, the chunky heel and the gold detailing; also they are super comfortable. I wore them all day to work and my feet did not ache one bit! Bonus!!

And that is all my favourites this month. What a bumper edition that was! Hopefully next month wont be as long but you never know!
Let me know in the comments what you have been loving this month? I'm always looking for new things to try.

Until Next Time...

What have you been loving in June? Did you love any of the products I mentioned?
