Fashion | Bank Holiday Outfit of the Day

Hi all,

So last weekend in the UK it was a bank holiday weekend! Oh this filled me with excitement as it means summer is nearly here. Wahoo!

My friends decided that we needed to celebrate and what better way then having a BBQ with a side of boys vs girls beer pong. It was a very messy afternoon/evening and I was so nicely taken home by my friends when I started to feel a little on the sicky side. Nice!

So I'm just going to show what I decided to wear, as the sun did show itself a little bit on the Sunday.

Top - Primark
Jeans - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - Linzi
As you can see I went for the pastel look! I love these jeans they are quite old now but are great for over the summer. I love the print of the top, with the palm trees it instantly makes you want to get on the beach. And finally my glittery jelly shoes, they take me right back to my childhood and are actually soooo comfy!

Below are just some of the photos that my friend Amie took of the day on her oh so pretty DSLR, as you can see we had a lot of fun.

And that was pretty much my bank holiday!

Lifestyle | What I've Been Up To Wednesday #3

Hi Everyone,

I'm back with another instalment of my weekly comings and goings.
I hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend, even though it was a bit of a washout.
So I'm just going to get stuck right in to what's been happening with me this week.

Wednesday
Another mundane day in my life. Got up, went to work, went to the gym, came home and watch Harry Potter! That was truly exciting watching Harry Potter on a Wednesday night especially as it was the penultimate film in the series.

Thursday
Of course my same old daily routine, however I got to finish work early today as I had a check up with my doctors regarding how I was getting on with my anti-depressants. He was quite happy with how my body has responded to them and glad that I was seeing an improvement in myself. As i got out of work early I used my time wisely and edited my new YouTube video, What's In My Handbag, go have a little look if you haven't already. I also watched Harry Potter again as the last film was on TV, it always makes me cry at the end, so emotional.

Friday
Friday couldn't come any quicker!! I was desperate to get out of work for two reasons. 1. It was bank holiday weekend and 2. I was having Fish and Chips from the chip shop for dinner! After being strict all week going the gym 5 days and eating healthy I was too excited to get some greasy carbs in me. Also I got tweeted by Jonathan Joly from The Saccone-Jolys, which even made my day more exciting!!! If you don't know who The Saccone-Jolys are they are an Irish family who do daily vlogs on YouTube, I love their channel so much as their kids and dogs are so cute!

Saturday
A Saturday morning lay in was essential as I had been on earlys all week at work. After dragging myself out of bed and making myself a Kale & Kiwi smoothie with my Slender Blend from Protein World, I was off to The Emirates Stadium to see one of my chums Amie take part in a charity football tournament. It was such a fun day with a few others of my bestest friends and was really nice to be given access to the stadium on a non game day.

Sunday
Sunday was a funday! As it was bank holiday my best friends Stacey & Ad decided to host a Bank Holiday BBQ which involved a lot of alcohol and beer pong, which is now an annual event among us. The sun did make a tiny appearance which was lovely. I'm planning on doing a longer blog post about this for you very soon so stay tuned. But here are some photos to keep you going.

Monday
The day started a bit hazy, nothing though that a bacon sarnie and a glass of coke couldn't sort out. As my sister and her boyfriend were over we had a bit of family time and went down to the golf club for a little drink and a catch up. The rest of the afternoon was spent with my mum sorting through all our holiday clothes as we are both away at the same time this year and usually share some bits. We were still moaning we had nothing to wear after sifting through piles of clothes.

Tuesday
Yesterday was a struggle that's for sure. The bank holiday had left me for dead and all I could think about was snuggling up in my bed, even when I was in the gym I was finding it hard to keep my normal pace up. However I was happy when I managed to run straight for 7 minutes on the treadmill which is a record for me so far.

And that has been my week. Lots of exciting stuff over the bank holiday and then just bog standard working week really.
I hope you guys are enjoying this little series, I'm think I may keep this going over the summer as I'm enjoying documenting my life.

What did you get up to over the bank holiday weekend? Let me know in the comments.

What I've Been Up To Wednesday's #2

Hi everyone,

I'm back with the second installment of What I've Been Up To Wednesday's. This week I've actually been super duper busy which has led to me not even having any time to write up any posts or edit any videos! So let's get stuck in to what I've been doing.

Wednesday
Like every other day the majority of the day was spent at work. However in the evening I met up with my friend Emma and we had a girl date, which consisted of Nandos followed by cinema. We decided to go and see Bad Neighbours for the main reason of a semi naked Zac Efron. The film was actually quite funny and I did actually laugh out loud quite a few times, especially the part with the airbags and the baby milk! Go see it if you haven't yet, especially if you like staring at Zac Efron's chest.

Thursday
Today was a boring day! It consisted of work, going home and catching up on all my YouTube videos and then an early night. What a cray cray night!

Friday
The sun came out to play today and boy was everyone in an extremely good mood. After a day of work I headed off to Carnaby street to meet the girls for a few after work drinks at Zebranos (with 50% off until 9pm, how could I say no) It was such a fun night and was great to let our hair down after a long week at work.

Saturday
I woke up with a tiny hangover, nothing however that two paracetamol and a pint of water could solve. Saturday started off great as I weighed myself and had lost 4 pounds!!! I could hardly believe it as I had been out to dinner and for drinks that week. This made me in an extremely good mood. The afternoon/evening was spent at surprise 16th Birthday party with all my girlies and favourite people. It was such a lovely day and everyone was in such a good mood. We also watched Arsenal win the FA Cup which was brilliant as a being raised as an Arsenal supporter it meant a happy family after 9 years of no silverware.

Sunday
Once again I woke up a little bleary eyed after the night before, however the sun was beaming so I knew I couldn't simply spend the day in bed. I went with my mum down to our local golf club for a pimms on the patio and my friends Amie and Stacey also came and joined us for a bit, to soak up some sun. I spent the rest of my afternoon in the garden sunbathing, which has now led me to sport a t shirt tan! Sexy, I know! Of course the BBQ got fired up which was a lovely treat and then I spent my night in bed watching the Baftas which was jsut what I needed after two nights out in a row.

Monday
Erugh the dreaded M word! Nothing truly exciting happened other then realising that my heel had a really deep crack/cut on it. But hey what you can expect from Mondays? I did however start watching Breaking Bad again!

Tuesday
Slight improvement on Monday with a really intense gym session with my work friend Danielle and then a nice relaxed evening! I took some photos for a new blog post about how to get your legs summer ready which went live last night, as well as watching Eastenders. I also got a lovely parcel from The Body Shop and I'm so excited to try out the Banana shampoo and conditioner you wouldn't believe.

And that was this week! Pretty boring apart from the weekend but it was all go go go trying to make the most out of the sunshine.

Let me know what you've all been up to this week in the comments, I love seeing what you've all been doing.

How To Get Your Legs Summer Ready

Hi Everyone,

It's that time of year when us ladies can finally go bare legged! However it often fills some girls with dread, especially if you don't give your legs the love and care that they deserve.
I love getting my legs out over the spring/summer months, you'll often find me jumping around in a dress or some denim shorts, especially around festival season; meaning I need to make sure my pins look good!

I know how hard work it can be shaving your legs, I often have to bribe myself in order to make the time, but that super soft feeling you get afterwards and when you're wearing on of your fave dress and heels with bronzed legs you know that extra time in the bath it was worth it.

So in this post I'm going to be giving you a run down of how to get your legs all ready for summer without breaking the bank balance!

Okay so I tend to shave my legs when I have a bath as I find this the easiest way to shave my legs instead of standing in the shower. I use the Wilkinson Quatro disposable razors and instead of using shaving cream I use hair conditioner. Yes you read that right, hair conditioner, anyone you've got hanging around your bathroom will do! This will make your legs feel super soft after as well as helping to prevent shaving rash as conditioner is a lot softer than some shaving creams.

After this it's time to exfoliate! I'm a big believer in exfoliating and have a least four different pots and tubes of the stuff in my bathroom. My favourite one has to be Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush, especially for the summer time. The lime/citrus smells instantly reminds me of summer nights lazing in the garden! Take a good handful of the scrub and gently rub in circles over your legs, make sure you focus more on your ankles and knees as this is often where dead skin will build up most.

Once I've finished my bath, I like to make sure that I don't end up getting a shaving rash or red patches; especially if I'm fake tanning! To do this I use Herbalife Herbal Aloe Soothing Gel*. This instantly leaves your legs feeling smooth and silky as well as adding moisture to them! Perfect you're killing two birds with one stone! Herbalife use all botanical ingredients so you know this isn't going to be bad for your skin, as well as the gel also providing cool relief which is great after a steaming hot bath. You can use another moisturiser on top if you want to if you are wanting something more scented that matches your body wash etc. Herbalife costs £8.63 and is available from here.

Next up is my favourite part of my leg care routine! Fake tanning! I've tested and trialled so many different at home fake tans that I know what looks sunkissed and what looks oompa loompah-ish. My go to brand is Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter. Now depending on what I'm doing that day/evening will depend on what product from the Cocoa Brown range I use.
If I'm just intending to have a little laze around the house or going out for lunch/dinner I will use Gentle Bronze* now this is a gentle moisturiser that helps build up your tan gradually meaning you have control of how the tan develops! I've been loving using this daily and have had a few people straight away ask me if I've been out in the sun. I love the way this applies also its not too thick and you can feel it moisturising your legs instantly!

However if I'm going out last minute for a big night out I will use Lovely Legs*. This is an instant wash off tan that sprays on like a dream! Of course make sure you use a tanning mitt when applying to ensure even coverage. You can pick one up in Primark for around £1-£2! This tan is great especially if England's weather is playing up this tan will not leave you with white specks where the rain has hit your legs! I'll definitely be bringing this to V Festival with me to ensure bronzed legs with my festival looks. Don't get scared when you spray this onto the tanning mitt, it does come out very dark. However after a bit of circular rubbing with the mitt you will have sun kissed legs ready to take on the world.

Cocoa Brown is available on Feel Unique as well as being in some Superdrug stores. All their range prices from £2.99 to £19.99. Trust me I will definitely be picking up another bottle as soon as mine run out! Go check out what other products they have on offer also!

And that is how I am getting my legs ready for summer! Now that the weather is finally on the sunny side I can showcase my lovely sunkissed pins to all my friends and family whilst looking like I've just come back from 2 weeks in the Maldives for a smidgen of the price!

Let me know if you try any of my tips and tricks in the comments, as well as if you've tried any of the products I use.

What I've Been Up To Wednesdays #1

Hi Everyone,

So if you follow me on twitter you will have seen that I'm trying to start a new series to keep all you lovely lot entertained.
I've decided to go with What I've Been Up To Wednesdays. This basically is going to do what it says on the tin. Every Wednesday at 8pm you'll be getting a new lifestyle post from me detailing what I've been up to that week. From boring mundane tasks to the exciting nights out, all alongside pictures from my iPhone.

So let's get on with the first one.

So my Wednesday started off as usual. Long day at work, gym and home. I did upload a video on my YouTube. It's a little vlog of my afternoon tea with my Mum at The Sanderson Hotel. I suggest you all go and watch it. You can go watch it here which I suggest you do! And also don't forget to subscribe!

Thursday saw another day of work! Yawn! But yay to team work drinks afterwards as our team has currently expanded. We headed off to All Bar One, which I love due to the atmosphere and great food. It was also my manager's birthday so a few shots were consumed. Bit cheeky for a Thursday evening.

Friday was pretty chilled for once! After work I came home to a lovely dinner, one of my faves! Spaghetti and meatballs. I quickly filmed my next YouTube video which is a tag video, that should be up on Friday! I also decided that I was going to bite the bullet and put myself forward for one of the Cosmo Blog Awards; in particular Next's Newcomer. You can find out more details how to vote for me by clicking here! Please if you like my blog even just a smidge give it a little nominate.

Saturday I was up early and by early I mean half 6! I was off to watch the Rugby 7s at Twickenham with a few of my friends. It was fancy dress and the theme was monsters; so we had spent the last few days panicking as what we had originally ordered didn't turn up. However all was solved and I must say a massive well done to Nicola and Chantelle for coming up with the costume and all the bits. We were lucky enough to get our faces professionally face painted which I think helped even more. Overall the day was amazing, I've got a small vlog coming up next week so you can see exactly what it was like. Even though I have no idea about rugby the atmosphere was amazing and everyone was in such good spirits.

After all the drink that was consumed on Saturday, Sunday was spent having a good old lazy day. I woke up late, lounged in my pjs until about 1pm and then decided to order dominos as a little hangover treat. Oh boy it was good! Perfect end to a semi busy weekend.

And then it was the dreaded Monday once again. I turned up to work to find someone had phoned in sick on my team and with the two other girls who I work alongside with left me and one other person running the show. To say my day wasn't stressful would be a lie, however I love days like that. I thrive under pressure and find that the day goes so much quicker. Due to my stressful day, I thought why not treat myself? So I did to this little beauty, which is currently winging its way to me from Matalan. You can pick this up here for only just £18.

And that brings us to yesterday. For the first time ever I actually got up super early and went to the gym before work!! I know! I was even shocked, more so that I didn't fall asleep whilst doing my sit ups. However disaster then struck when I was getting changed into my work clothes when I realised I had not brought any tight with me! Day ruined, especially with the weather. I then spent the afternoon at the Citizen M Hotel for some training with work. I then had another disaster on the way home with the strap on my handbag snapping whilst walking home. I was so happy to finally get home and hide away from any more potential disasters. My day was instantly made better to see that Harry Potter was on the TV! Woo! For those that don't know me, I love Harry Potter. You can read about that here, its a pretty good post if I can say!

And that's pretty much been my week! I hope you guys like this sort of post, I'm hoping to continue this series for a while. If any of you want to join then please do, give me a little tweet of your post when it is up and I'll make sure I'll retweet it! That's a promise!

Let me know how your week has been in the comments? Been anywhere exciting? Or just simply stayed indoors? I'd love to know.

Until Next Time...
